The Hotellerie Franciscaine has everything you need and nothing you don't, if your needs are basic like mine. The rooms might be minimalistic but everything you require is there and works perfectly - without any surprises; where in some more upscale hotels you'll find that your battery didn't charge because your room was powered off when you left, none of that modern foolishness here. The room might be small but the bed is comfortable; the table and chair are functional but work perfectly. People - both of the hotel as well as the guests - are very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast is basic but very good quality, I especially enjoyed the mini-croissants (and probably committed a sin by taking two each morning). While I'm not a very sociable person, I did enjoy having breakfast at a shared large table where everyone finds a seat and shares what is offered - if not for religious reasons, it still feels great to avoid senseless waste like you often find in upscale hotels. During my stay the front entrance was not easily accessible because of road works. So when I arrived I came in through the gardens - that was a magical experience, to walk between the old fruit trees and vegetable beds in the dark, and having to run between the spray. Something I will remember until the end of my days.

The host was very friendly and we had an amazingly warm welcome. There were beautiful surroundings which includes the back yard. The bed was really comfortable, the dining area had everything you could need, and we will definitely being out swim suits next time to enjoy the jacuzzi.

The property is very spacious, clean, modern. Facilities are great. Everything you need in a home, you have it. Kitchen equipped with all you need, the three bathrooms makes it perfect for bigger groups or two families of four like us. We had a great time and is close to ski resorts, too. The host, Daniela, is very kind ,helpful, and welcoming. Definitely would come back again.
