Great hotel in a great location right by the quay, but away from the busy part. Excellent staff led by Victor who was really helpful and amazingly for a French person, speaks quite a lot of Irish! Thanks Victor for a great few days in your lovely Hotel. Breakfast was perfect also.

Beautiful place, great for families.
Beautiful place, great for families. Leave the car in one of the car parks on the periphery of town and enjoy easy cycles and fresh air! We didn’t use our car again once the bikes were hired for the week. We went out of season, can imagine the cycling gets a bit manic in high season.AAnonymous - 10Scored 10

The overall ambiance is superb. Good restaurants. Very busy during the day. Not the cheapest on Ile de Re and certainly not in France. Bridge toll is high. Weather can be very fickle.............. Saint Martin de Re is worth visiting and there lovely fish restaurants, shops and possibly to go on cruises. Saint-Martin de Re is a charming village on Ile de Re. Great restaurants, wonderful bike paths, narrow streets that beckon you to explore. It’s status as one of France’s most beautiful villages is well -deserved! The capital of this delightful island off La Rochelle (connected by a fine bridge), busy in high season, but with a super market and some very good shops and restaurants of great variety. Charming and quieter back streets, and a great base for cycling around the island.

A vibrant port area on the Island, where the larger ships dock in the harbour. Full of good bars and restaurants. Many people come into town for the evening and promenade around the harbour. There is a great choice of restaurants, from easy-going to high-class. It's a great place to have a very good evening of food, drink and "people watching".

The hotel is perfectly located on the harbor and we had a splendid view of the harbor from our windows. The room was elegantly decorated and very comfortable, including the terrific mattress for a good night's sleep. It had a nice sitting area for reading and watching the news. The bathroom was large and supplied with Chopard amenities. The adjacent restaurant George's serves a very nice breakfast and a wonderful dinner.

Rooms are a good size and very clean - they are checked each day and the towels changed on request. They also have a place to safely leave your bike at night. Le Secret is beautifuly restored and styled/ decorated with tastful furniture and objects. Great location near all the restaurants and shops but at the same time a quiet and serene atmosphere in the hotel, a nice little garden with a pool. Make sure to check out the tower at the top of the building for a nice view.
