Located just a minute's walk from Kawaguchiko Lake, Kawaguchiko Lakeside Hotel offers accommodation in Fujikawaguchiko, near Kawaguchiko Ohashi Bridge. Free WiFi is available throughout the entire property. The hotel is a minutes' walk away from the shores of Kawaguchiko and Kawaguchiko Herbkan. Normally I do not put a lot of effort into writing a good review, but Lakeside Hotel deserves an exception because it was that excellent and unforgettable !! The service of this family hotel is unlike I have ever seen. Best example: the hotel owner went with us to the train-station to make sure we got the last 2 seats on the bus we needed to take. And friendliness is taken to the next level by the whole staff! Now the hotel itself. If you want to experience Japanese culture in a hotel setting, this is the place to go. We recommend the Japanese style room! Waking up with an impressive Mount Fuji view is something else :) The Onsen is also incredibly relaxing. After a long day cycling around the lakes chilling in a thermal bath is just what you need. It is accessible for everybody in the hotel, and it’s naked. No worries, men and women are separates. But believe me, it’s worth it to set your self awareness aside and let those butt cheeks free. The breakfast was amazing. It’s super Japanese. You feel like you are in a manga. And it’s all homemade. And when you eat you have again an impeccable view of Mount Fuji. Location wise it’s also amazing. Close to a bus stop where all the hop on hop off busses passes. So easy to go everywhere. Amazing Japanese restaurants in the area and the lake views are amazing. A short stroll from the hotel and you can see the reflection of Mount Fuji in the water. When you choose to visit Kawaguchiko, go to the Lakeside hotel and you will have an amazing stay!

The place is run by an old couple, they are patient and welcoming to us and our requests. The hostel is located right beside lake kawaguchiko and a reasonable walk to kawaguchiko station. The interior is very traditional with tatami flooring and futons to sleep on, giving guests a local and organic experience. Overall, we recommend this place!

The panoramic lake views and a cosy fireplace await guests in the lobby. Guests can rewind in the spacious hot spring bath, or reserve a smaller private bath at an extra charge.
Spacious and beautifully decorated Japanese style room with any amenities you could think of. Very quiet, comfy beds. We had a private Onsen in our room which we didn’t use as the public one was great. There was tea time in the afternoon and cocktails in the evening all free of charge. Breakfast had a variety of Asian and Western choices. The staff were very attentive and helpful.
It’s a bit up the hill - however if you don’t like to walk there is a free shuttle from the train station and back.

The hotel is amazing. We had a hot bath which was perfect after a day of walking. The staff were very professional and friendly. The traditional breakfast and dinner (which was included in our booking) were an amazing experience. They bring you a lot of food and we ended up so full 😄 they have public and private onsen. We tried the private onsen and we recommend people to try it :) the view of Mt. Fuji and the lake on the roof is amazing. The room came with the tatami floor and the room was huge. 100% recommend
This is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. My boyfriend worked at 5-star hotels in the past and even he said the service at this hotel was impeccable. We were very lucky to see Mt Fuji from our room and the private onsen. We also loved the traditional Japanese room, the dinner and breakfast selection and being able to wear the yukata provided by the ryokan. Definitely the most authentic Japanese experience of our trip. We wish we had stayed longer than just one night. We will be back at this ryokan every time we visit Japan from now on.
Everything! It was a beautiful, traditional style Japanese inn with lovely tatami mats and futons to sleep on. It was like being taken back through time and was amazing to experience a real taste of japan.
Most comfortable futons we had in Japan, owner upgraded us to a larger room with a direct view of Mt Fuji for free since we were the only guests in the ryokan. Free hot drinks and the hottest onsen bath imaginable, really rejuvenating. Wonderful hospitality with free yukata loan, 360 views of the lake and mountain from the roof terrace, and the breakfast was delicious. Great facilities and good location.
Really beautiful location as the photos show. This is a traditional Japanese inn (ryokan), which means traditional-style rooms with sliding doors, tatami mats, and futon bedding; a (nude) bathhouse within the hotel facilities; and in our case, a full traditional dinner and breakfast. This is the iconic ryokan experience! I would certainly recommend Ururun Kawaguchiko to anyone else travelling to Japan, and if you can't make it here I would strongly recommend trying to find and stay in a ryokan somewhere else for at least one night.
Excellent place to stay and relax. Each of the rooms have an outdoor onsen bath, and an indoor wet room with a bathtub and shower. The futons are placed on tatami mats. You are provided pajamas to sleep and Yukata to walk around the Ryokan and the area if you want to. The dinner and breakfast are Kaiseki style.
I was a fun to get a ryokan experience, wear a yukata and sleep on a futon.
perfect stay for anyone who wants to experience a ryokan. it was well stocked with amenities, and they even provided a yukata to wear for the onsen! we liked that we could use the onsen privately for 30 minutes max. each time. the host was very warm and welcoming. i was really looking forward to seeing mt. fuji from our room but the weather did not permit unfortunately :( wish we could’ve stayed longer because the weather had cleared up the next day!!!
Location- across from station and bus Short walk to food and sights Futons and Tatami mats Lovely onsen with Mt Fuji views
Location right by the Yagizaki Parc, on the shore of Lake Kawaguchi, but most important with an absolutely stunning view on the Mount Fuji. Hotel is designed like a Ryokan: rooms with Tatami mats, comfortable futons as beds, shared bathrooms with small Onsen, optional breakfast (changes by day between Japanese and western style).
