八海 木花館

Oshino

The ryokan will provide guests with air-conditioned units with a desk, a coffee machine, a fridge, a safety deposit box, a flat-screen TV, a terrace and a private bathroom with a hot tub. Guests can have wine or champagne and chocolates or cookies delivered to their room. At the ryokan, all units have bed linen and towels. The location and the view of Mt Fuji at the property was just spectacular. The food and service was impeccable. Nina Lin was sharing with us all the great spots to take photos of Mt Fuji and we really enjoyed our conversations with her. The other older lady was very helpful and hospitable as well and we can't praise them enough for making our stay so memorable!

Ryokan Fuji Heights

Fujikawaguchiko

Located in Fujikawaguchiko and only 1.5 km from Lake Kawaguchi, Ryokan Fuji Heights provides accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. A hot tub is available for guests. The accommodation features a shuttle service, while a bicycle rental service is also available.

Guests can take advantage of the warm weather with the property's barbecue facilities. The ryokan is located in a geothermal area, with a number of hot springs nearby for guests to relax in. Koike-san greeted and picked our family up from the station which was great as it was raining. His house has a very warm, homely feel run by him and his wife. My 2yo son loved the experience of making your own futon bed and getting served a light breakfast in the morning. The room did get cold in the night but the futons and blankets kept us surprisingly warm & cosy. It's about a 20min walk to the station area but you can walk along the lake which is nice and scenic. There's also shops and restaurants about 5mins walk from the house. Overall we loved the experience and it was great value, we would recommend to others and will come back again next time.

Kawaguchiko Lakeside Hotel 2 stars

Fujikawaguchiko Onsen-kyo, Fujikawaguchiko

Located just a minute's walk from Kawaguchiko Lake, Kawaguchiko Lakeside Hotel offers accommodation in Fujikawaguchiko, near Kawaguchiko Ohashi Bridge. Free WiFi is available throughout the entire property. The hotel is a minutes' walk away from the shores of Kawaguchiko and Kawaguchiko Herbkan. We came for the view which, from our room, exceeded expectations. We will come back because of the awesome staff who went out of their way to make us feel at home. We stayed one night on our way from Tokyo to Kyoto by train. We ordered dinner the night of arrival and breakfast the next day. Both were delicious, traditional Japanese meals served with a spectacular view of Mt Fuji. Our waitress inquired where we were headed and recommended we consider an express bus to Mishima where we could get a bullet train to Kyoto. We agreed and before we knew it she had already made reservations for us! This saved us at least an hour and the misery of several train stops. Not fully evident from the property description is the supreme location of the hotel. As the name suggests, it’s near the lake, but also within walking distance of convenience stores, restaurants and several shops. The hotel also offers shuttle service to and from the train station. If you are planning a stay in Kawaguchiko (which you should) and want to be pampered with the full Japanese experience, let Lakeside Hotel pamper you as they did our family.

Teiensaryo Yamanakako 3 stars

Yamanakako

Fitted with tatami (woven-straw) flooring and traditional futon bedding, each room features a flat-screen TV and air conditioning. A fridge is also provided, and guests can enjoy garden views. Bathroom and toilets are shared with other guests.

The ryokan is a 5-minute walk from Lake Yamanaka. Both Fujikyu Highland Amusement Park and Gotemba Premium Outlets Shopping Mall are within a 30-minute drive. Our time at Teiensaryo was incredible! It's a family-run place and they were incredibly generous with their time and other gifts. The onsen facilities were well-equipped and easy to understand. The highlight was definitely the room. The view over the garden and koi pond was unmatched - I even got to feed them! Highly recommend. Cheers from Australia 🦘
