Japanese-style rooms have a tatami (woven-straw) floor and traditional futon bedding, while Western rooms come with beds and a sofa. All rooms all soundproof and air-conditioned, and fitted with a flat-screen TV, a fridge and an attached bathroom. Service very good. Everything was explained to us in English (as we don't speak Japanese). And very detailed. Dinner and breakfast were really good..They took the effort to serve us different menus as we stayed 2 nights. Very organised.

Room was really big with two bedrooms with two different sleeping options - futon or raised beds - outside private onsen was superb - public onsen was outstanding
Meals were served in the restaurant instead of in the room. The meals were delicious and deceptively filling (as in, you wouldn't think you'd get full but you do!). Our room was amazing with a great view. The in-room onsen worked perfectly.
The room was incredibly spacious and comfortable. The view was breathtaking! The onsen was also pleasant.
Great staff and food. Relaxing onsen. Kaiseki meal with grilled Kobe beef and beef Shabu is enjoyable. One of the best beef we tasted.
The meals provided were great. The view was fantastic as well. Enjoyed the onsens very much. Rooms were big and clean with comfy beds and futons.
The breakfast and dinner were awesome. Onsen also superb.
Excellent location, beautiful view of the lake, possibility of observing wild birds. Delicious food. Above all, the wonderful people who run this ryokan. We felt very special there.
Very traditional Japanese house, 130 years old. Neat division of rooms and functions. Kitchen designed for simple preparation of food with a micro-wave and electric hob. Quite magical to wake up in the morning on low, padded futon, beds with view outside into the house's own garden.
We specially arranged the Ryokan experience for mum, we enjoyed the aircon room with bathroom and private onsen, we chose our Yukata and wore it for dinner and breakfast. Dinner was the highlight and it's sumptuous! It's contradictory to me that this nice Ryokan is run by bunch of young people when most of my Ryokan experience was interacting with elder.
