Rooms are not what are shown. So expect smaller and less updated. I liked the location, the staff and it met the basic needs of a safe, space to sleep and explore the city.

My wife and i stayed here in the first leg of our honeymoon. They were extremely accommodating and hospitable. Rooms were very clean, with great selection of complementary drinks and local snacks. In addition to that, they did an amazing job giving me the option of planning a surprise for my wife , with room decorations, champagne and a strawberry short cake.
Breakfast was nothing short of outstanding with one of the hostess cooking and taking care of your every need.
Nazuna supports luggage forwarding services and are happy to contact your next location and organize it for you, making moving around during your travels a breeze
Its just a shame that 5 stars in the best rating i can give. And you can be sure that i will be back the next time i visit kyoto.

Quiet location, easy bus to train station and to Gion, private outdoor bath, all the provided comforts (pajamas, toiletries, free drinks and snacks in the lounge, egg sandwiches for late night snack), amazing breakfast, large comfy bed, smiling and friendly staff
Experience culture authentically with a stay at this traditional Japanese-style accommodation. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
The staff were amazing. We felt very spoilt and it was very restful. The private onsen was unrivalled. The meals were an absolute highlight - being able to experience traditional Japanese style. Attention to detail was amazing.
Wonderful Ryokan - serene location with onsen which was fabulous . Good sized room . Staff were lovely and the full Japanese breakfast was ‘different ‘ but an amazing experience . Dressing gown , slippers and traditional clothing provided which added to making it a unique Japanese experience . Shuttle service to and from the station is also a big plus and extremely helpful.
Wonderful huge hotel complex with the perfect ambient everywhere. The breakfast as well as the dinner were traditional and very tasty. The Onsen area is perfect to relaxe and the stuff where always there to help us.
The staff is lovely and accomodating. Both the private bath, public onsen and private onsen are refreshing and outdoors. The food is amazing and the portions were great. Very quiet location and rooms feel very private.
Exceptionally friendly, food outstanding and room utterly clean. They were so happy and excited about my 15month old baby and made sure he was comfortable as well. Ryokan and Onsen experience was one of a kind. I wish I could have booked more than one night.
I loved this Ryokan - it was a little far from town but that is what we were wanting. It was so beautiful and a great experience for Japanese culture. I loved experiencing the traditional breakfast. The tea and treat you get at the start was also super fun. The private onsen was amazing and great for people with tattoos
The outdoor onsen was quite pleasant. It was just us when we went to the onsen so in a way it was like our own private onsen. The futon was very comfortable. The shampoo was really nice smelling and the experience when we were waiting for our rooms to be made was pleasant.
It looks new and modern but they found the way to keep the tradition japanese atmosphere inside the hotel. There fountains with koi, zen gardens, kabuki mask on the walls illuminated by traditional japanese lamps.
The tatami rooms have everything you can ask for a complete experience in a ryokan, in particular if you get the one with the private bath.
Food is simply delicious.
