Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomBath was smaller than it’s space so water ran down the end. Bed was two big singles pushed together, but still both very comfy. Breakfast is served in the associated Hostel around the corner - go early to avoid Ha Giang Loopers
Ms Xiang was a very helpful and friendly host - nothing was too much for her! We booked a Ha Long bay cruise here and we were not needlessly upsold (and even got a discount). Comfy bed and hot water in the shower. Location was fantastic for the tourist spots!

IrelandReally great stay here. We extended after an initial one night stay and the hotel is very busy! The breakfast is provided at a separate hotel and it's great buffet style! The main lady (owner?) was very friendly and helpful for us, she booked us VIP transport for half the cost!

The hotel is older than it looks, but the room was big and the position is great, in the old town but in a quiet corner, so you can get a good night of sleep. The staff is very helpful, they go over and beyond, Candy in particular, and they offer city trips and activities at a good price.

New ZealandRoom and furniture were a little dated and unloved but certainly fit for purpose. Bath was super weird - it didn’t really fit into the space so it was not flush with the walls. Shower water just ran down the sides into the gap between the walls and the bath.
Comfy beds and location great - in Old Quarter near lots of restaurants and shops. Staff were very helpful - woman was very friendly and younger guy helped us find breakfast and went out of his way to give us water when we were sitting in the lobby for 2 hours after getting forgotten by our Ha Long bay tour company. Breakfast was good buffet with great selection but not in the hotel - 2 minute walk away.

Incredibly good value for money. Candy is a gem. One of the most helpful, kind, professional hotel managers I have ever met. I can’t speak too highly of her. The double bed was huge and comfortable. Great water pressure in the shower, and a nice big bathtub. Fantastic location. Close to wonderful attractions right in the heart of the Old Quarter, but in a little laneway and the room was very quiet as a result. Breakfast was nearby in another hotel and was nice. Pho, excellent baguettes, eggs, french toast, lovely fruit and decent coffee. A lovely hotel, outstanding service and a bargain. I will definitely return.

United KingdomRight in the middle of the old town, 2 minute walk to beer st and close to other attractions. It’s down a side road so it’s reasonably quiet. Staff were excellent, Candy on reception made sure we had everything we needed and arranged trips and airport transfers for us. Rooms comfortable and clean. Would definitely recommend it. Excellent value for money.

VietnamStaff are unbelievably helpful and kind - suggested placed to visit for us, arranged laundry and taxis, and let us store luggage before our flight. The hotel in the heart of the Old Quarter so easy walking distance from lots to do - tons of Pho, banh mi, coffee, pastries, bars etc within a few minutes. Even though located in a busy area, it’d be quiet at night.

MalaysiaI didn't like that I had to pay 3% extra since I paid by card. Booking did not indicate this either. Alex could not speak English and thank God for Google translate. Overall I am happy 5 stars for Hanna and 3 for Alex. He should learn English and make his life easier too if he wants to be at reception.
If you're planning to not spend too much time in the room a good place to get. Location is in the Heart of Hanoi, for me it was big enough, enjoyed the bathtub especially after long walks. You can be certainly suprised by how pristine and clean the rooms are. My heart fell in love with Vietnam cause of Hanna at the reception. She could speak good English and went way and beyond to assist me to get to places, always with a friendly smile, lovely conversations. Keep up the good job Hanna, thank you for making me feel welcomed. The breakfast is nice and located in another place just a 2 mins walk away. You'll never go hungry here since just less than 1 minute away you'll find really delicious Pho Beef Noodles and a little further street food everywhere....amazing.

United StatesPhillip, our host, and the Skyline Hotel treated us great. We had researched an itinerary for our time in Hanoi and Phillip reached out prior to our trip and made it a reality with very little stress involved. The value was excellent. All our guides were knowledgeable, kind and spoke fluent English. The arraigned transport was top notch. There wasn’t a moment we felt that we had too much on our plate or too little. The free breakfast at Phillip’s hotel was good, but right across the alley was Suong Pho which became our preferred way to start the day. The hotel was centrally located in the Old Quarter making everything easy to walk to. We felt safe throughout our stay. Phillip and his family were responsive to any matter of request or question. I had sprained my ankle prior to our arrival and after a long day adventuring in Ninh Binh it was very swollen and painful. I had casually asked Phillip where I could find some ice. He proceeded to hop on his Scooter and was back in a matter of minutes with large bag for which he didn’t even ask for reimbursement. He upgraded our accommodations for our last two nights, per his recommendation, and we found that hotel to exceed our expectations. Overall we were very satisfied with the full line of service provided by Phillip and his family. Our only regret was that we were unable to make it to his invitation for rice wine and a home cooked meal.
