Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesMaybe some more natural products in the bathroom but it was not bad. But maybe just some natural product would be nice for air freshing.
The location is in a wonderful district. District 4 is where most locals live so there are so many good places to eat and enjoy time making friends with the people of Saigon and other travellers. Kay and Huy the son and daughter of the hostel, are always so nice and helpful. I had to order a package here and Huy helped a lot with that. Breakfast is so delicious 😋 and very nice rooftop. The gym is simple but its great to have a nice work out. The beds are comfortable and i have been sleeping great here.

GermanyI don't really have major complaints. There was a little weird smell from the drains in the bathroom sometimes, but that can happen anywhere and didn't really bother me too much. It would be lovely if breakfast were offered longer in the morning (even though it's worth setting an alarm for :))
I absolutely loved my stay here. Everybody working in the hostel or hosting the tours is incredibly nice and helpful. You can really tell this family and team love sharing the authentic sides of Saigon. The hostel is located in the middle of district 4, which might not be the perfect fit for you if you are mainly trying to party within the backpacker bubble (the main backpacker area is, however, super easily reached by grab or walking) - but it definitely is if you are trying to experience the "real" life of this Vietnamese city and the best street food! Also, there were a lot of other solo travelers in this hostel, which easily made it one of the most laid-back social hostels I have stayed in. 10 / 10!

The hospitality is incredible. The family that run the hostel are extremely friendly and welcoming. The included breakfast is so nice, getting wholesome food at the start of your day makes a huge difference. Try the chicken pho! I could go on… the gym, the rooftop bar, the neighbourhood, the free walking tour to orient you around the area. So good! All hostels should be like this

United KingdomThe rooms were a bit small.
The staff are absolutely amazing. It's a family run business and they really care about giving you good service. They get in touch with you beforehand on WhatsApp and make sure you are able to reach. They are always asking if you need anything and they go out of their way to help you if you do. Truly top class service and can only recommend the cooking class. The breakfast is also really nice and good value.

United StatesEnsuite bathroom in the 6 person dorm can be messy given there's no drain underneath the shower. Not the most social atmosphere. Away from District 1 so it's a bit of a walk to get to the tourist spots.
Completely family owned and operated, and you can tell the effort and pride they put into the running the hostel. Good breakfast options. Amazing food tour of District 4 where you get a bit of history of the area and see how the locals live. Good if you want a more quieter place to stay away from District 1.

GermanyBe aware that it is located outside of the touristic center, so you need to walk for a while or take a grab.
Very friendly hosts who help you organising everything you need. They offer paid and unpaid activities, I really liked the walking tour and the cooking class.

Canadano complaints! I'd love a water filter machine or bugbrefill jugs to refill bottles rather than using a lot of disposable plastic, but that would be a bonus. Blackout curtains would be a great addition, though most backpackers travel with an eye mask if they needs it.
Fantastic fanily-run hostel, with attentive, friendly, and helpful hosts. The hostel is very clean and quiet, with comfortable beds and hot showers. Bedrooms are sunny, reasonably spacious, and delightfully air conditioned. There are spaces for social gathering (breakfast kitchen, gym, comfy living room, rooftop space), but it's not a rowdy party vibe. Transportation, tours, and social hostel activities available (food tour, home cooking, culture walking tour). Excellent breakfast included, with vegan/vegetarian option (noodle soup with tofu and veg, fresh fruit, beverage). Quiet neighbourhood, but walking distance to foods and cafes and laundry. Quick Grab ride to many tourist hotspots I stayed here three times (!), while I was using Saigon as a base for visiting other places. They kindly let me store some of my luggage during these trips. I'd stay here again
