Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandAs we were on the boat for only 24 hours, we felt a little rushed between activities as they tried to cram a lot into the time we had. We also felt we spent a lot of time eating and didn’t need that much food, would rather be outside on the sundeck enjoying the view!
Great option for one night in Ha Long Bay. We were really lucky with the weather and had minimal clouds and sunshine. Tea out cruise manager was very friendly and informative about the bays and the sites we went too. Bed was very comfortable and the own private balcony let us enjoy the stargazing privately.

United KingdomWe didn't have the best weather (can't be helped), and the water in Halong Bay isn't the cleanest (not the fault the company at all). In hindsight, I think a 2 night cruise would be less of a rush.
The food was the highlight. We were fed so much delicious food it was amazing. Especially the two breakfasts on day 2! The staff were incredible and the rooms large and very comfortable. The tai chi on the 2nd day I also loved. We were on the 3 berth boat and it felt very private like we were on below deck! The pick up and drop off from Hanoi was really well organised too. Would definitely recommend this company.

PortugalIf I have to be picky I would point out some of the dishes in the lunch and dinner with zero salt which was a bit of a pity considering the ingredients were quite good and it could easily be tastier.
In Bhaya Classic 3 all rooms have a little balcony which was great. Cabins have a nice decoration and are quite comfortable. The activities schedule is smooth, not too rushed. The beach spot is really beautiful and was very quiet while we were there, allowing us to really enjoy the beauty of Halong Bay. Bhaya runs a smooth operation, it feels good and not like a tourist trap, recommended!

AustraliaA few more hooks to hang towels etc would make a big difference.
Our boat was a restored wooden boat. Lots of character and charm. The cabin was very compact and not much room to spread out. But you don’t spend a lot of time in your cabin

United KingdomAlthough the vessel was probably old and a little worn, the bedrooms were large & comfortable, modern bathrooms & crisp white sheets & towels.
Chose Bhaya through booking.com as it seemed to do all activities. When we arrived we were allocated to a vessel for just 6 passengers. We were looked after like Royalty by cruise manager Nguyen, with the food of exceptionally high standard.

IrelandWe did the 2-night cruise, a great option as we got the best itinerary and plenty of time for activities and relaxing. The boat has a great dining room and outdoor areas, the rooms were comfy and clean and with everything working. Food and service were excellent for all meals. The staff were amazing and helpful at all times creating a great atmosphere. Activities - lots of kayaking, beach time, trips to caves, floating village and a pearl farm, a cooking class and pre-breakfast Tai chi - all very enjoyable. Bhaya also arranged the return transport to Hanoi which was great value compared tonself- transfer. Location - spectacular Halong Bay. Summary - a perfect long weekend

United KingdomThe down side was food, we had special meal ( vegetarian jain meal) the lunch was good but dinner was really let down it was repetitive of lunch. Also there was a ceremony conducted by the staff during dinner which they prepare something for each table, for which or table was left out.Just because we had special meal we were made to feel we were not inclusive of the dinner. Considering we paid so much for the cruise and having felt differentiated and left out was clearly not what we were expecting.
The views of Halong bay are breathtaking. The staff was very friendly and welcoming.

SpainThey sell 2D / 1N when in reality is less than 24hours cruise, cruise starts at 12 noon and ends at 10am the next day…. Limited on activities (only 2) and you stay in one place only for the whole “cruise”. Everything seems rushed… Personally I would say it is “scammy” as it is not really a 2D/1N cruise….
Staff very friendly Facilities Food Attentive support during activities

United KingdomNot worth the money at all, total rip off. Our room also reeked like sewage They even had us fill out a guest review in front of them, then read thru it while we sat with them and made us feel bad for giving poor reviews on some of the stuff. The staff worked really hard and all have to sleep together in one tiny room..they deserve better.

GermanyIt was not what we originally booked. We have got an upgrade to one of the suits on the Auco Cruise Ship. It was not what we originally wanted, but as Beccy the manager stated, the smaller boats couldn’t go out because of the rough weather. While on our way, we have come across our originally booked boat multiple times. While we had a good time on the cruise, I am not happy with managers lying.
Die Cruise war schön und das Essen war sehr gut! Die Aktivitäten waren zum Großteil auch sehr schön!
