The place is very cool, the staff incredibly friendly. I was travelling solo and met great people at the hostel. Also the location is very close to a subway stop from where you can reach easily Manhattan and Brooklin.

No ledge next to the bed for glasses, charger, etc. There also are not a lot of food options close by that are open late.

Very clean with big underbed lockers and comfortable bedding. Friendly staff. The common area had lots of seating and a large table with multiple power outlets, which was appreciated as I had to work for part of my trip. A quick walk to the E train and an easy 25-min ride to midtown Manhattan.

A storage for bath stuff would be good ( to storage brushteeth/ toothpaste or shampoo for exemple) but it's fine

It was getting cold in the room during night, but there is a heating fan installed. Walls and doors are thin and you could hear noise very easily. However, we were satisfied staying at the Local NY.

The Local NY is located in a quiet neighbourhood. In 2 minutes walking distance there are a few new restaurants and a brewery - which we liked very much. The next subway station is very close and services several lines to manhattan. The room was not too big but clean and as we expected. Travelling NYC, we would stay in the Hostel again.

How they set up the bunk beds. I wish they had curtains around the bed to give a little privacy. And if they could put a chair or console table or something in the room that would have been helpful for the upper bunk residents to put stuff while getting ready for the day.

The beds in dorm were not to comfy, made so much noises, bedsheets seemed quite old… very uncomfy bathroom, small shower, no there to place your things, old shower curtain, sink was so small too

I liked the roof top and common area. I like how the bathrooms were set up. I enjoyed the location- near enough to a subway station but outside of Manhattan so your mornings and evenings are calm from not being in the busy city

AC was set to way too cold temp for me, but I is easly fixed. Unfortunetly roomates kept their wet clouthes around beds and they started to smell after one day, but I guess it is not hostels fault.

Location is good, close to subway station, seems scetchy but it isn't, common area is nice, bar with good beers. Love that my room (4beds) had bathroom and toilete only for that room. Bed had proper duvet.

No lift available. so you have to manage your luggage up to the room . However, Christian was very helpful & he gave me hand.

Christian was the best staff. Everyone was nice too. Whenever I go to NY I'm staying there. Subway station was only 3 mins walk away.

Room showers need bath mats. Some of the staff were lovely and very hospitable, some were quite indifferent.
