Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesI'm not understanding why there is confusion over a reservation from Booking.com when the hotel lists their property on this website and I have a confirmation number - however, this seems to happen at every hotel these days. The lobby & halls were hot, hotter than outside. I'm not staying in the halls though, but it was uncomfortably hot duing the delayed check-in process. Room was very hot because A/C was completely off when I first entered the room. I turned it on and left to run some errands and get dinner before returning.
Friendly clerk, comfortable room, comfortable bed. There is a new Whataburger right next door which I would have dined at if I didn't already have plans with someone else on the evening of my arrival.

United StatesProperty needs a lot of work. Building has a musty smell. One of our first rooms had a leak in the ceiling and the bed was wet, staff quickly gave us another room. Our second room, the toilet had a bad leak and sprayed a stream of water out of both sides when flushed. Bed sheet had what appeared to have a grease stain on it. Our door didn’t shut all the way, it latched and locked but had a lot of light that came though the frame- I checked it multiple times thinking one of the kids didn’t shut it all the way.
Rooms were clean. Property has many cameras, felt safe. Staff was great, very friendly. Beds were okay for a one night stay, but no more.

Filth. Stains on carpet, shower stall upper lip had not been even wiped off in YEARS!. Stains on bed spread so bad I put on floor. No way management ever inspected with an eye toward cleanliness.

Booking.com said they were going to refund my money, now they refuse to issue a refund. Nearly $90 was stolen from me.

United StatesThe hotel needs to be renovated; however, the bed did seem clean, which is most important. It's also near a main road and highway so it's somewhat loud - the cars and trucks driving by. As a matter of fact, I had to turn on the AC to muffle the sounds from the road and also the loud patrons in and around the hotel. Many of the people staying at the hotel were very low-class ... i.e. loud and disruptive... talking in the hallways late at night ... slamming the door ... hanging outside talking on the phone loudly and sometimes in the hallway. The walls seemed paper thin ... i.e. you could everything in and around the hotel. I won't stay there again mainly, because of the low-class clientele. This hotel is basically a one-night stay hotel ... if that, and only if you can't find another hotel in the area. One other thing, the blankets for the bed are paper thin. I prefer something thicker to provide some protection / warmth.
They had waffles for breakfast ... where you pour the batter into the waffle-maker. That's always fun to make. However, that doesn't mean that the breakfast was incredible overall, because it wasn't - far from it. Basically, it was cereal, waffles, bananas, coffee, and juice, which is ok, but could be improved. Also, they had a parking space for Veterans, which was nice. Also, the location is easy to find, because it's right off the highway, but that's also a problem as you can read below.
