Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaNot much space to leave suitcases in the room. The hot water in the lobby for tea/hot chocolate needed to be hotter. The coffee was typical American brewed coffee (not great).
Room was good & very quiet. Excellent breakfast with a range of choices. Good location for many tourist things & right at a subway station for easy access to more distant sites. Easy Walking distance to Times Square, the High Line, Empire State Building, shopping and longer walk to Central Park.

Great location. Close to so many popular areas. Subway station for route number 1 was just 50 metres away. Views from our room were fantastic. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good. Good selection of food. Room was clean and comfortable.

NetherlandsI felt the room was quite small for the money. The bathroom was quite small too and I was struggling to move without hitting myself to the wall in the shower.
The location of the hotel is in a good place, you can reach Times Square, Edge observatory and the Empire state building with a short walk. The view from the hotel room was splendid, especially in the night.

BelgiumWe had a Queen Room for 4 persons. Room was too small. Beds were very narrow. The airconditioning is extremely loud. And instead of cooling it was heating the room.
Nice hotel. Very central. Very close to subway. Very clean. Very friendly staff. We got a room on 43rd floor. Stunning view on the city. Many reviews were very negative about the availability of the lift during breakfast. But we had absolutely no issue at all.

LatviaThe breakfast included too many processed food options including suspicious-looking scrambled eggs etc, so it was a bit difficult to find non-processed food options, especially as many other international guests also felt the same (e.g. they ran out of bananas). I was surprised to see this at a 4-start hotel.
The location was excellent, with a mesmerising view of Manhattan's skyline from my room (36th floor). The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and nice.

AustriaThe size of our room (for 4 people) was very limited. In our case (3 people + luggage) it worked, but I cannot imagine how 4 people (+ luggage) can manage it.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The location of the hotel is optimal, the breakfast was ok, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The view from our room in the 33rd floor was really great.

Czech RepublicThe sliding doors to the bathroom meant you couldn't close it properly. The room didn't have enough space for our luggage. Sometimes we had to wait a long time for the elevators.
We loved the breakfast! Really great choice of food every day. The bed was very comfortable and the hotel is near the subway so very conveniently located.

South AfricaI only stayed for one night, so there’s not much negative to add. The only thing I would mention is that this is New York so the hotel is on the pricey side, but overall, it was a positive stay.
I arrived very early from my flight in the morning. As it wasn’t yet time to check in, I was able to leave my bag with the bellman and check in later at night. The hotel’s location was convenient, and I found the room décor cute. The shower was also great, with perfect water pressure. The room itself was spacious, and I loved the personal touch of seeing my name on the TV screen—small details like that never fail to make me smile. The hotel has ample plugs which is a great convenience along with USB chargers, which can be a rarity in some places. It made a big difference after travelling. Breakfast was good. There was a wide variety of options, and the kitchen was fully stocked.

We had a very comfortable stay at Springhill Suites by Marriott. Staff are excellent, starting from Evan in Reception, Anna & her Concierge colleague from Georgia - big thanks to both - and the breakfast friendly and efficient. We had a room on the 32nd floor, with excellent views over the South Manhattan with the One World and Liberty. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful. There are 4 lifts and we have never had to wait long, even at peak times. There is a gym but we have not used it, walking around NYC all day was excercise enough. Hotel are organised to store cases if you arrive before checkin time or you leave after checkout time. They have arranged a transfer for us to JFK and their driver has worked wonders to beat the traffic and get us there in time, thank you. The location is good, street is lovely and green, with many florists. Metro just at the foot of the building. Concierges very helpful and knowledgeable of the various sightseeing package offers, so it was worth talking to them as we have got a bit confused by the multiple offers we had found on the internet while preparing this trip. We have enjoyed our stay and we recommend this hotel if you plan to stay in Manhattan.
