Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe staff were not particularly friendly, just did what had to be done. Tiny pool. Kitchen too small to “cook” but fine for making pasta/sandwiches.
Excellent location. Just a minute from the bus stop, restaurants and the beach. Good sized room. On the cheaper side for hotels in Waikiki. Good a/c and amenities.

AustraliaI booked this hotel from booking.com and paid the same amount for 2 queen rooms. But allocated rooms were different. One is bigger and the other one was too tiny with minimum facilities . When I asked it from reception I was asked to contact booking.com and said that how I booked. Can you please issue me a refund for the tiny room with no facilities and was in a bad location closer to streets.
Location was good and closer to the beach

United StatesThe pool was super small and murky. The staff was matter of fact but not really friendly. Just there to do their jobs. There was a slight musty smell when we opened the door but the AC worked and it looked clean enough. The neighbors were hammering at 3am. You will hear a lot of noise here
The room had a kitchen, table, couch, bed and bathroom. It was more of a motel studio apartment. There were a few clean kitchen plates for our pizza, a microwave that mostly worked when you pressed certain buttons, and the door locked. Look, it’s not modern or updated. It’s basically a motel vibe but if you can’t afford a nicer hotel or don’t want to stay in a hostel… this is perfect. It was perfect for our night.

New ZealandThere was no sound insulation so I could hear people talking in the hallways, the bars outside and the rubbish trucks in the morning. It was only a concern for me as I was travelling solo with my 4 month old son and I needed him to sleep before our international flight the next day
The property was nice and close to Waikiki beach and local shops and places to eat

FranceFrom pictures and other comments, it is already clear that the hotel is quite old and, yes, would benefit from some refresh. This was to be expected. What was for ourselves the most annoying was (night) noise. There is noise from the outside of the hotel (it is in the heart of the city with some traffic, Honolulu has some strange ways to collect garbage, and some visitors can make noise in the street, but there was no works as of May 2024) as well as noise from inside the hotel (our room had some elevator behind it and each night one random visitor was making noise, there was also the noise of the AC devices, ours was off). All this boils down to really bad (meaning no) sound insulation. This is really something that could improve the room. In the meantime, think of ear plugs.
This is an old style hotel which is ideally located: beach nearby and interesting food around (the poke store aside the hotel is really good). Staff is very nice and helpful. Bus nearby a well (bus 20 goes to the airport in 1h).

AustraliaWhile the inside of the room was pretty clean, it's old and needs a bit of a refresh.
Location was great, you can leave bags in the lobby which is super helpful. Its a short walk to the beach and easy to catch the bus to the airport. Room was clean, but old.

CanadaThe traffic is extremely loud. The windows are the plastic slats so lots of noise seeps through. Would be nice if they changed the windows so it wouldn't be as noisy.

AustraliaIt's an older property, so things are of course are a bit run down, but you get what you pay for!
Good location only a couple of mins walk from the beachfront. There's a certain charm to this older style building. While it has certainly seen better days, for the price and location it isn't too bad if you're just using it as a base and not spending much time in your room. Staff were nice and helpful.

CanadaThe Vizio tv was difficult to figure out. It was four days into my eight-day stay, before I could figure out (and only from my asking the hotel staff for help) how to find the channel guide on this tv. There was a lack of cutlery in the kitchenette, I.e, only one fork, and there was not enough drinking glasses (2 plastic, one glass), and no wine glasses.
Front desk staff, location, the hotel and general area was safe, the kitchenette, and the room type and room location (far enough from the sounds of crowing roosters).

SpainThe kitchen and bathroom could use some renovation, but it was ok. They were not dirty, just old and rusty. The mattress was extremely soft. There was some sort of problem with their system when I checked in, so I had to insist that I had a reservation.
The location was the best thing, 2 minutes walk from the beach, close to stores and restaurants. Wasn't as noisy as I thought it would be after reading some comments. It was the cheapest at that time at that area. And the room had everything, fridge microwave, table with 2 chairs, TV..

United KingdomThe whole place is in need of a full refurbishment. Rooms i had were very noisey due to outside traffic which I know is not hotels responsibility but old single pane louvred glass windows offer very little noise protection. AC old and very noisey. That being said it was clean and beds comfy.
Beds were very comfortable and place was very clean.

AustraliaLoud air conditioner on adjacent verandah...not a pleasant sound whilst I was on my lanai. Had to keep doors and windows closed to dull the noise a little but could still hear it inside my room, 206. Thankfully my air conditioner was silent. King size mattress (2 singles on a queen size base) was not ideal. Made the bed feel lopsided.
Arrived very late after flight delays and it was good to be able to check in after hours and be greeted by a smiling friendly face. Size of room was great. Proximity to beach excellent. Laundry facilities appreciated. I was only booked in for one night but extended my stay because of the welcoming staff and convenience to everything. Lots of small cafes, bars, food trucks close by and a convenience store right down stairs.
