Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

United StatesSurf hotel - A bit dated but what is expected. Heater wasn't working at first. Maintenance was sent over quickly and situation handled. Much appreciated.
Upon checkin our room wasn't quite ready, so they upgraded us immediately at no extra charge to a much larger room. Good upgrade and explained that since they have the room available, why not. Felt that was a very generouse thing to do. Breakfast was as expected and kept fresh each morning. Well attended and well worth it. Thank you all.

United StatesThe area is not fancy. You go there to see Hearst Castle. I wish the area could be developed but the forces that be don’t allow such modernization. How come Monterey, Carmel, Santa Ynez, and Santa Barbara have improved but not this place? A: the State of California’s social agenda.

United StatesOne bed 'sunk' a bit on one side. Pool heated but still really cold due to chilly winds.
Early check-in was readily accommodated. Our room was clean with a little "sitting room" (frig, microwave, couch), two queen beds and large TV screen. Manager fixed a brief issue with TV remote. I loved the shower with regular shower head and lower one (almost felt like a bidet!) Full b'fasts each day were just right. Fresh-baked cookies every day too! Heated pool and fire pit nice. Quite close to elephant seal viewing and Hearst Park (can walk on beach) and Hearst Castle.

Great, quiet place to stay! Came with my dog for a night while driving the PCH. Staff was so friendly and the free cookies and coffee on arrival were a nice touch. Room was very clean with a great balcony. Hot tub and pool area are great with a firepjt nearby.

United StatesI just didn’t love opening the front door to the bathroom sink but of course that would not be an easy fix. Still a good value for the price, and overall I would stay again.
Breakfast was good, I loved that the lobby had coffee, hot water and cookies all day. We noticed a fire pit table by the pool and although we did not use it, it would be something to look forward to on another visit. Loved the proximity to all the surrounding areas.
