It feels very dated and the photos definitely make it look nicer than it actually is, I was quite disappointed when I arrived and don’t feel it is worth the quite expensive price tag for the rooms. I don’t like to leave negative reviews, but I feel I have to this time.

The property is in a beautiful location and is walking distance from the beach.

Well first room we were given smelled funny, and we were bitten by fleas. They allows pets so🤔

Location is next to the beach, but! The freeway noise is terrible.

Unfortunately the restaurant and pool were too far away from our room for my aunt to get to with her walker.

The staff were nice and the rate was reasonable. The beds were very comfortable and I loved the pillows.

Everything was good

We were pleasantly surprised by the view of the ocean, as we paid for the less expensive garden view room. The room also had a very nice fireplace that made it very cozy.

TV remote did not work, place needs a bit of a remodel. A/C unit was a bit noisy, but not terrrible.

*The bed frame was held together with zip ties. *The noise from the road/freeway during the night was awful. Maybe get double-paned windows? *There was a surprising amount of "edge" soil on the moldings and bathroom floor. *One of the sprinklers wasn't installed correctly. *The fan needed balancing. *We tried to extend our stay, and there was no support or communication whatsoever from Booking.com -- email and and voicemail messages weren't ever responded to.

*The man who checked us in at the reception desk was exceptional. *The room was neat and welcoming. *The breakfast was very nice. The man in charge of it did an excellent job.

My bathroom was small, no where to place toiletries/cosmetics, body towels too small and thin, no hair conditioner, rooms had various upgrades (ceiling fan, fireplace, table, air conditioning unit), the $10 daily self-parking fee that didn't exist last year when we stayed there (junk fee). Since the pandemic there is now no daily room service without staying more than 3 days ( we stayed 4 nights and chose not to have room cleaned, just fresh towels and trash service), I don't think this is fair given that rates have increased and should include daily room service. Isn't that part of my daily rate fee, (includes daily room service)?

Liked my patio overlooking the pool, bed was very comfortable, nice size TV, great location, walking distance to beach and fair. Complimentary breakfast. Quick response to change out trash cans and towel service.

The hotel is old and needs an upgrade. It was overpriced. Everything is extra, like 10$ for parking per night!

The older non renovated buildings start to make you question the price point versus other locations in the area. If I could be on the newer side then I would have kept booking her. Yet the last 3 times I was in the older building and for the price it was not worth it to me.

The staff is always friendly and they get you into your room quickly. The location is superb. They cut the hedges to look like you are right on the beach as you look to the water. The new building is sooooo nice. It feels like a newly renovated hotel in Las Vegas.

Heavy mildew smell in registration building. Highway noise made it a little hard to fall asleep.

View was spectacular. Landscaping was pretty. Beds were very comfortable.

In the fine print, the property snuck in that there was $100 deposit fee that I didn’t see. I wasn’t too happy about that. She said it was refunded at check out but that needs to be in full view when you’re booking. She said if people don’t have it, they offer reduced price for it or if they can’t pay, they just won’t check you in. That’s not cool.

went well other then there being a malfunction with our room key 2 seperate occasions it did not work 3'oclock in the morning my husband got off work and after breakfast there was no one in the office to help us with the problem so that was a bummer

The rooms that overlook the Ocean do not have a balcony. You see a view of the freeway first. Could not open the window . The room became stuffy. The shampoo and body wash was not restocked . There is no conditioner in the bathroom.

It was close to the Ocean and a 15 minute walk to the Amtrack station and 10 minutes to the Pier. The pool is nice. There are fresh towels at the pool area.

Having to pay for parking was a definite no for me. One reason I would not stay again.

It was communicated that the pool was heated. I was not, and there is no outdoor hot tub. The property and grounds are very outdated and several areas are in semi demolished state. Pretty much any other rooms you stay in other than the 2 cottages will have constant freeway noise. (Although they are probably quite a bit cheaper).

The cottage was very nice and cozy. Loved that it was far enough away that there was no freeway noise, unlike all the other regular rooms on property. The hot tub in room was so relaxing. The bed was comfortable. The landscaping along path to cottage was appealing. The free breakfast was good. I liked the sausage, bacon, and choices of toast. Hash brown cubes should be avoided! Location is good for taking a walk along beach bike path and visiting Ventura Pier. Overall worth the extra price for cottage.
