Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesI didn't like the fact of them remodeling the room next door at 7:50 in the morning. They were hammering, sawing cutting and making a bunch of noise, when I tried calling the office nobody would answer the phone. I was very upset about this

United StatesThe bed are a bit stiff/firm and was a little uncomfortable for my preference. The bathroom was remodeled but the new glass shower doors did not keep the water in well, and it seems to be effecting some dry wall near the corner of the wall meeting the shower.
As always it is in a great location with easy access to Carmel, pacific grove, downtown Monterey etc. The property is clean and the rooms are very clean. It seems they have upgraded their rooms and they feel very modern now. Parking is extremely easy as well.

United StatesI do not like the renovated spa tubs as the faucet is very slow and tub takes almost 2 hours to fill up and the new drains don't seem to seal as well as old ones. It is almost not worth paying the extra anymore for the spa rooms with new slower fill time. It used to take maybe 45 minutes with the old tubs and faucet.
I love the owner Monty he is always flexible with late check in and late check out and his rates are very competitive for the spa rooms.

Although the building’s gotta be some 60 yrs old, it’s obvious a fairly major renovation was completed within the past few years. New flooring, furniture, TV, the works. Everything is super clean. Location is a quick 10 minute bike ride via the nearby bike path to downtown Monterey. This area can be pricey so the value provided here was appreciated.

United StatesThe lodge is pet friendly, however there is no area to relieve your pet. The property is surrounded by flower beds only. I don’t expect to have an area for just service dogs but since they allow pets, I would have expected at least a little grassy area with a trash can.
