The only bad thing I can say is the wifi wasnt working. The remote for the living room area was no where to be found as well.

I liked the location and area was quiet. We got the top floor so the view was good too.

Did not like the small bed, uncomfortable mattress on the pull-out couch, and the shower handle was broken. You had to turn it a million times to turn it on or off.

I loved the location. Right near the infamous location from "12 Years a Slave" where the slave trade happened. It was out of the French Quarters, but close enough to walk to locations in the French Quarters.

Communication with staff was poor. No one responded to my messages on booking com No one cleaned the room despite a 3 night stay and we were not told of this. Only one toilet roll left for two people for 3 nights. We had to go buy our own on day 2 when we returned to find that the room wasn’t serviced

We felt that the rooms would have benefited a bit from some TLC. Some of the blinds were broken and the kitchen cooking area needed some work.

The location was excellent, an easy walk to the French Quarter and the participate in the Mardi Gras. Staff were super friendly, responding to any request quickly and resolving some minor issues with the room very quickly. An older hotel steeped in history, it was a a great stay.

The people staying in the unit below me had children that they allowed to run, scream, and cry that I could hear at 7 am! So, you can hear the people below you but no one else.

The place is huge! It's an actual two-bedroom apartment with a big balcony overlooking the street!

Rachel, who seems to be the property manager, was very pleasant and accommodating. However, she seems to be stretched too thin running this and another place. The listed check-in and check-out times are apparently loose suggestions, at best. When we arrived, within the check-in time window, the place was locked and it took about 20 minutes of repeated phone calls to get through to her (no voice mail on her cell phone). Once we got in the front door to the building, our room key and check-in sheet weren’t where they were supposed to be, so we waited another 10-15 minutes for Rachel to arrive from the other property so we could get into our room. This was after 14 hours of driving to get there, so it was a little frustrating. There were only two bath towels/washcloths in the suite we had reserved for 5 people, so we had to wait to catch Rachel again to get more - not a big deal unless there are no regular office hours and you never know when someone will be there. After about the first 24 hours of a 4 night stay, we never saw her again the whole time we were there and actually just left our keys in an unsecured mailbox outside the office when we checked out/left. Granted, we were out and about most days we stayed, so she may have been in and out of the office while we were out. However, it’s a hotel and you would kind of expect someone to be there - at least during some kind of regular, posted times if nothing else. We were pretty much on our own nearly the entire time we were there. Again, definitely not a complaint about Rachel - she was awesome. She’s clearly overworked and overextended though. The place itself is what you’d expect from a hotel that’s probably 150-200 years old and typical of similar places in the French Quarter. If you want a perfectly climate-controlled, sterile, cookie-cutter hotel room or suite, this isn’t the place for you.

great location and cool, historic property

As should be expected from a 150 year old building some things are run down. It been nicely upgraded with modern amenities, bathroom, kitchenette, wifi etc. but some little things didn't work or were broken. Office hours and housekeeping access are limited. Parking is limited, but the hotel has a small lot. If you rent one of their balcony apartments, with loft, which is a good choice for an extended stay, be sure to check your furniture options. Our party had two such rooms, one had a sofa bed and armchair in the main space making a nice seating are. The other has a full bed in that space, leaving very limited seating, but sleeping more people comfortably than the soft bed.

This hotel is a very good value located on the edge of the French quarter. It is and original building and is all upgraded with modern amenities, bathroom, kitchenette, wifi etc. It is a short walk from Jackson Square, Burbon Street and Frenchman Street, so lots of choices for restaurants, bars and music. Public transit from Jackson Square gives you access to anywhere in the city. The hotel is located just far enough from the center of action that the street noise did not disturb us. We parked in the hotel lot and didn't move the car until we left. This hotel is a good opportunity to be in the heart of the New Orleans tourism and music district in an authentic setting without paying an arm and a leg. Just don't expect the Four Seasons. or the Ritz.
