Beautiful structure, great decor, and the restaurant, bar and cafe were wonderful. Comfortable bed, big room and bathroom.

We paid for a king size bed but the bed was a queen size and with no firmness. The handle on the sliding door (inside handle) was broken making it difficult to get out of the bathroom. Hotel is overpriced!!

We liked being SJC to visit the Mission etc. The staff was courteous and listened to our concerns.

This hotel is very pricey. The pool area was small with limited seating. The room size was standard and we expected more than the view of a parking lot for the price.

The location was excellent. We were able to walk to restaurants and the mission. The hotel bar and lobby were very nice with plenty of areas for gathering.

Smoke detector in room has a bright flashing white light every few seconds. Irritating at night. Thermostat display goes from dim to bright every couple minutes. Irritating at night. Saturday morning about 9::00, no hot water in shower. Undersized water heater? Tried to use men's restroom near lobby, but both toilets were out of service. The complementary shuttle service is too limited. Rancho Mission Viejo Riding Park (3.0 miles away) is too far for the shuttle. Even The Coach House (1.8 miles away) is too far for the shuttle.

The paid wifi was confusing and seemed exorbitantly expensive. That, and the $35/day surcharge for food or drinks that is charged to you whether you eat or drink anything, seemed like cheap money grabs.

The hotel has a wonderful location. You can walk to the Mission (across the street) coffee shops, Mexican restaurants, etc. The hotel is spacious and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful.

I have no suggestions. We enjoyed everything about the location. Our stay was ideal. We ran into a cart driver at the end of the day once who gave us a ride back, very gracious.

Breakfast service was exceptional. Choice of dining indoors or outdoors a plus. All staff attentive and friendly.

Water pressure issues & one night of water maintenance meant we had two nights where we couldn’t shower after a long hot day.

Nothing. The only thing I’d say is the room rates are a bit confusing. There is an additional £25 daily resort fee to pay which wasn’t made clear to us . And the valet parking was mandatory and expensive - £45 per day. Just bear those in mind as mandatory additional charges.

A beautiful and immaculate hotel with impeccable service from every member of staff. The pool area is lovely and the other outside spaces are comfortable and very inviting - for example there are lights and fire pits everywhere. The food and drinks are very good and the access to other restaurants and coffee shops in the local town is fantastic too. A quick drive to the beach. What a great hotel.

This hotel is a dreadful nickel and diming joint. When you arrive (and NOT before), you are told that your already quite high room rate is actually $25 more per day because … well just because they can. It is a “food and beverage allowance”, which you can use to buy stuff, but it doesn’t roll over and you don’t get it back if you don’t use it. I took two stars off of my rating because of this. It is shameful. I have an allergic reaction to hidden fees that big companies use to gouge you. If someone walked up to me on the streets of San Juan Capistrano during my stay and robbed me of $150, the cops would arrest him and he’d probably end up in jail. But when a hotel does it? Business as usual. That said, I still loved the place. It has many, many positives, and I absolutely would highly recommend it. Just be aware that the rate they list is not the rate you will be charged.

The location is fabulous if you have things to do in San Juan Capistrano, and since it’s close to the freeway, it’s also good if you are going outside of town. The hotel itself is delightful and the staff are wonderful, always friendly and helpful.
