Cabins are cool, but Grand Canyon West is not worth visiting at all.

Grand Canyon West is really not worth visiting! We have already been at south rim and wanted to visit GCW, too. So we planned a night on our tour through the US at the cabins. Although the place is really cool, it’s not worth visiting. Frankly it’s nothing more than a tourist scam. First the make you pay 72$ entrance fee per Person to see the canyon and the skywalk and then you are not even allowed to bring your camera. Photos can be taken and later bought of a “professional” of course. Everything is overpriced and made for tourists coming from Las Vegas for a quick visit. In fact, the canyon is much less beautiful than it is on south-, west-, or north-rim. My recommendation: if you wanna see the GC from its beautiful, natural and untouched side: skip Grand Canyon West and head towards Page and it’s other ending. If you’re into touristy stuff, lots of people and a quick view, just to have been there, that’s your place to go.

Good things first: Really nice and cozy cabin. They’re located in the absolute nowhere, so it you want to take photos of the nightsky, this is the place to stay. The cabin is well maintained and clean, perfect for a group of four.

    Dreamy getaway under the stars

Not directly related to the accommodation, but there are limited hikes in this specific area. You need to go further west, so you need a car.

Location is fantastic! The night sky is mesmerizing, Milky Way and shooting stars fest! It feels like you're away from everything (and you actually kinda are...). Gazels and coyotes are nearby when the sun sets. It's so peaceful for nature lovers. The cabins were more comfy than I expected and spotless. There is also, in the visitor center, 5 minute walk away from the cabin, a micro-wave and a water and ice dispensary. It's precious when you travel with a camper van like we did. Definitely recommend this place!

I don´t like that there is a restaurant but closes at 6 pm (same time that closes the park) so when we arrive to cabins; the restaurant was closed and only we have a machine for buying something for the dinner!! It´s so far of all; I advice to bring there your foods and beverages and it will be great!

I think that is in the best place for visiting the west side of the Canyon. It´s incredible to see all the time that you spend in the cabins The Canyon !! Amazing!

Though we requested a 2-Queen bed with trundle room we only got 1 bed with trundle. The restaurant - the only food option within 25 miles has limited hours and VERY limited menu.

The views from the cabins were beautiful. We happened to enjoy an amazing thunderstorm during our visit.

West Grand Canyon cabins - remote but perfect for a solo traveler or couple who want privacy

Location was remote - west entrance of Grand Canyon - 30-45 mins drive into entrance. Not many facilities nearby. Also FEES associated with stay were not explained or outright different - there is a FEE for each member of party to be at the location (reservation) $50 for children and $60 for adults. This was not disclosed with booking. Skywalk ticket advertised as free by booking.com- included in stay. Hotel mgmt said this is NOT included. Only fee waived is 1 person per room (reservation site fee, only). This was Outright false advertising by booking.com - would never have booked this stay if these issues were disclosed at booking time because costs add up for family stay.

Secluded property - peaceful. Perfect for solo travelers or a couple (2) who want their own private cabin near secluded west entrance of Grand Canyon. Staff is friendly and cabin is small but well equipped with ac sm fridge and microwave. Hikes on property were great - also zip line available for more adventurous. Stargazing at night and sunrise in morning memorable!

AC in the room is very loud, but that’s nitpicking really

Fantastic location, you are basically IN the Canyon. There are trails off the property itself with amazing views. The zip lining is about $50 per person and so worth it. Anita at check-in was lovely and every single staff person at the zipline was so nice. Thank you!

We didn't know that there is WiFi. The check in staff just handed the key to the room number. It would be nice to know if there is WiFi available as if an emergency call is needed for the family.

The cabin is cute and comfortable. It gave us a feeling of living small, except having a kitchenette. There is no TV, and we just enjoyed the night to see a few thunder, lightning at night. We love seeing the sunrise in the morning. Beautiful!!!

Whilst there were vending machines, no shops and only one place to eat.

Great location for early entry into Grand Canyon West. Cabins were spotless and air-conditioning was excellent. Very little light pollution, so if you are interested in seeing the stars and the milky way, it is a great place to do so.

Bring your own food if you cannot get there by 5.30pm: literally everything serving food closes at 6pm

Beautiful wooden rooms in grand canyon west, in the middle of nature. Sunrise and sunset with view of the canyons, deers, coyotes and rabbits running around in the early and late hours. Very clean, excellent WiFi coverage, parking in front of the cabin.

When we checked in, the clerk gave us a free admission ticket which came with the room (worth $60) but I didn't know that came with the room reservation. Unfortunately, I had purchased the admission ticket online already so I lost out on that benefit. I think you should check into that and confirm so you can add that to your website showing the free admission ticket comes with the room. FYI...there was no breakfast that came with the room but there was a restaurant there where you could buy breakfast.

The location was great because it was right near the Skywalk and that was the reason for the trip.
