Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesWeird people hanging around in parking lot. Wasn't in a good neighborhood. Wouldn't take kids there. Bathroom outlet didn't work so couldn't use hairdryer ito get ready for a big job interview. Halls were dingy and dark, as was the parking lot. Too far away from Colonial Williamsburg. A lot of little things added up to a big mistake.
What did we like? Not much. Room was fairly clean. Beds were comfortable. Fridge worked. Guy at front desk was very friendly and helpful. Good rate, but should have believed all the bad reviews. They were all accurate.

United StatesThe rooms were old, there was no microwave in one of our rooms, but the breakfast bag had a sandwich to heat up. There were no cups for the coffee machine in the rooms. The bathrooms were not very clean, with rust stains and a dead bug.
The front desk staff were wonderful and went above and beyond to ensure we were taken care of. There was someone to greet us even in the WAY late hours of the evening after the parks closed. Very easy to get to.

When we came back to our room Saturday night our key did not work again. staff blamed it on us keeping the key card near our phone. But we left our room key in the car the whole time we were out.

United StatesThere was dated everything. There were portions closed due to fire damage. The pool wasn't available. The gym door was locked at all times. There were exposed screw heads on the bathtub. There was sewing needle on the floor in the room. We saw two small roaches in the room. The breakfast was simple and individual packaged, served in paper bags. The front desk staff was distracted by their phones. The front doors stopped working temporarily. It didn't deliver on the Howard Johnson as a overnight vacation, as stated on a poster. It has lots of potential.
The location was close to Busch Gardens and colonial downtown for entertainment and restaurants. The Howard Johnson was historically important for highway travel stops. This location was once incredible.

United StatesThe pool was closed. They served breakfast in brown paper bags and their reason was Covid! I have stayed in hotels since COVID started and they serve actual breakfast. the hotel looked a little run down in a lot of areas, like it needs work but the owners are just trying to band-aid everything.
We had a room with a jacuzzi tub and that was nice. The room was clean and comfortable. The location was good and close to shopping, restaurants, and attractions. Employees were helpful and accommodating.
