The pool was under maintenance

Hotel was undergoing some renovations (namely the pool was closed) - but it's a pretty decent place to stay near the galleria. It's within walking distance from a pretty nice whole foods and some restaurants - and there's a decent workout facility

Our shower barely had any water pressure. I asked the front desk to please have maintenance look at it. It didn't get done.

When I booked, was pretty sure I booked two double beds or a king with a pullout couch. When I checked in I was told it was only a king, and there may not be a pull out bed available. I’m glad it worked out and there was a pull out bed that we were able to put in our room

The pool is out of action and has been for a long time - no sign of this on booking website. It was 40+ degrees in Houston and no way of cooling off without travelling to another Marriott. The breakfast was poor - there were flies in one of the drawers that contained muffins - put me off. Staff were mostly helpful, but not always the most friendly.

The shuttle up to 3 miles radius was useful

I didn’t like the housekeeper she came into my room unannounced. She invaded me, and my coworkers privacy. I didn’t agree with the false advertisement on the website, we came to relax and enjoy the pool area, which was under maintenance at the time. The housekeeper was very rude and followed us around the hotel coming off as harassment. I had to call my boss to relocate us to another hotel. We were demanded to pay out of pocket for being accused of smoking in the room. I think we were discriminated against our age and it wasn’t fair. I felt violated and embarrassed.

The breakfast was pretty fair in taste.

The reception staff was very horrible. I got intimation that check-in available at 3:00pm onwards, when I reached ~3:15pm the staff said the room is not ready & asked me wait for sometime. So I waited in the reception & he suppose to call or reach me. After waiting more than 30 min, no response. When I went & asked during his free moving around about the situation, to my surprise the staff asked me to stand in the line again to know the situation. Finally, after almost one hour got the key, again key was not added parking, I got stuck during the exit. Somehow, when I approach again to another staff, he helped me well to fix the key issues. The staff doesn’t know how to treat the customers. No interest to use in this hotel in the future ☹️☹️

Std Marriott room, but very poor harsh 5000k blu-ish lightbulbs used in the room. Also my room (301) was at very back of hotel in alley, very little outside light, and a loud ventilator fan less than 20ft away

There was no room service available Hospitality service was too early and if you are still in the room, they never come to clean after you leave, despite of our request that room needs to be cleaned. Cleaning lady didn’t speak English.

Location was the only thing that we liked about this hotel.

The walls are SUPER thin, to the point where I can hear everyone’s conversation. When I asked to be upgraded to a suite, there wasn’t any available at this hotel. The manager was not empathetic or apologetic when I told her I didn’t get any rest because of the other hotel guests or for my inconvenience.
