Bathroom and the fact that they charged us $20 per breakfast that was mediocre at best.

Bathroom was shoddy- not very clean, the caulking in the bathroom was a mess and the toilet didn’t work well.

The mattress needs to be replaced badly. The duvet cover was falling apart but the rest of the room was perfect. Bathroom tub was rusted and the stopper was broken and very slippery getting into and out of. The room was clean but the cleaning staff didn’t place trash can liners inside any of the trash cans, I had to request them and received immediately.

Location - Across the street from the ocean. There’s walking space on the bluff above the water, and several place to climb down the bluff to the beach. A very short drive leads to free parking with an easier beach entrance. The property - Exactly like every other Hilton Garden Inn in the country. My room had a view of th pool and the ocean.

Not enough sofas and umbrellas by the pool, especiall for larger groups.

The turf and outdoor lounging area made for a great place to let kids run around while the adults lounged and mingled with other hotel guests. Also, the pool and outdoor happy hour were really nice features to keep everyone entertained while staying distanced and comfortable during Covid. While the hotel was not fully occupied, these amenities seemed to accommodate well.

Run down. Not all amenities available, including hot tub and restaurant. Beach access misleading. No access for at least 1/2 mile. Extremely expensive to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn.

The hilton honors app kept saying we needed to go in when we didn't. We wanted a digital key and that didn't work until it was too late. Then it said we needed to check out in person and we went in and realized that we didn't.

The room had a funky smell and the screen door didn’t open easily but overall, it was great for our purpose!

We only stayed one night on a side trip to Legoland. We knew we wouldn’t be there for long so didn’t want to pay a fortune. The hotel was very family friendly and to my surprise had live music next to the pool, along with a nicely-done, yet inexpensive barbecue. We left our screen door open to invite the beach breeze into the room, enjoying the laughter from families in the pool below. Friendly, helpful staff. Nice convenience store in the lobby too. Across the street from beach but we didn’t go because we were in hurry to leave for next destination.

Room and location were OK. There was no fan in the bathroom, so the sink mirror fogged up after a shower. The hotel is in a close area to cliff over-looking a beautiful beach and view of the breakers.

I enjoyed the property being kid friendly! I was always checked on making sure we had everything! Definitely would stay here again!

The reason for my disappointing score was that on 2 separate occasions management would be yelling at their staff, speaking very condescending to their staff and at one point it seemed the management was having a meltdown about a call out. This was all done in the open in front of customers.

Overall with the property I was very happy with & the hotel rooms were very nice.

Well I booked out a month ahead and show up after being on the rope of Alaska in -50 below weather and was looking forward to a jacuzzi and pool everyday but showed up to construction and pool closed was not happy that’s is what I was needing .. next time I will ask if pool is open or not

I don’t think there’s anything bad about it . Every time we come to Carlsbad we always stay at this hotel.

It was very clean . We really loved the pool and hot tub area with all the trees . It’s very close to the beach and we can see the sunset every day . The staff was very nice .
