It would be awesome if the pool was open until midnight, because there was so much to see in San Diego, only if there was an option to have a quiet night swim … like after ten it would be quiet hours.

The Outdoor Pool Security 24/7 Restaurants Bar Options and the old school look to the hotel .. feels like home, other then other hotels that feel too new and the paint still smells.

There was quite a bit of noise and riff-raff on our final night there (it seemed as though there was a grad celebration). This wasn't really a fault of the hotel, but also wasn't really handled as it carried on through the night.

The front desk attendant was super kind upon check-in, and helped by giving us plenty of detail on what was nearby and the easiest ways to get around the city. The food at the hotel restaurant (Postcards) far exceeded my expectations, and we had great service each time we were there. We met a very nice local couple from San Diego having a stay-cation at the hotel, which I think also speaks to the high quality of the amenities and services offered. :)

Hotel front desk service-I had no room hairdryer, as advertised, and when I called the front desk, they said they'd send someone right out and they never did/no one showed up. The tv remote was also broken. Daily parking fee. For me, the bed was uncomfortable.

It was fine enough for the short amount of time I stayed.

The smell of the hotel is not very pleasant, the exterior of the building and the hallway carpets are very outdated, landscaping in the front of the property is outdated. No elevator to get to 2nd floor, had to lug luggage's up the staircase which was an inconvenience. Website did not really focus on the photos of the exterior of property, had I known would not have booked.

When we first arrived we were in a regular room. The room was dirty and looked used in. For example the bed seemed to have been slept on there was dirty rags on the night stand and there was urine in the toilet as if someone had already been staying in the room prior to us arriving. The room had a strong odor of smoke and was definitely a terrible thing to experience within a few minutes of arriving. We however we removed and upgraded without hesitation! We felt listened to and appreciated.

I loved the location of the Handlery Hotel. The amenities were all great and we enjoyed the spa/pool area. We were upgraded to a suite, and definitely will try to book again.

The room smelled musty upon entered and the tub was slow to drain. Not enough discomfort to say anything to staff about it at the time. We did say something about it at checkout and the desk clerk apologized and said we should have said something about it and they would have corrected it.

The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The location is excellent! Staff was attentive and available at a moment’s notice.

Overall the rooms were clean, the musty smell wasn’t to bad, the rooms seemed like a military barrack. It was closed to Sea World. Extremely expensive parking, $18 per night.! We booked a few rooms as a group, one of the rooms had two people who drove separately because she could not join us as we checked in and arrived later in the night. The front desk made it extremely difficult for her to get an expensive parking pass. She had to get the First person out of bed to head to the lobby to explain she was the second person in the room. They felt it could have been handled a bit better than it was. Will I stay here again, probably not.

Overall the staff were great and friendly.

The rooms were reset each day and were freshened up. Nice towels . Comfortable beds. Nice balcony on my room but some of my friends had rooms with views of the carpark.
