Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandThere is only one Restaurant and we didn’t like to food there. It was an amercanstyle Diner. The Menu was only Fastfood and the Tacos don’t look and taste like Tacos.

United KingdomMust admit the staff within the on-site restaurant where we had breakfast in the morning could have been a lot more pleasanter and look like they were happy to be there. (Not all staff) but one or two need customer service training

NetherlandsThe location is stunning, set in the breathtaking Monument Valley Park in Utah. The view from the terrace of your room is simply magnificent.
The property is dated, with its features and amenities clearly showing their age from about 40 years ago. An upgrade is highly recommended to bring it up to modern standards.

United StatesThe views are good, although marred by the neon-lit bright gas station placed smack dab in the middle of the view. No matter where you look, you see that dang gas station. Light pollution was also caused by floodlights from a college building on the left and a private home on the right. No laundry soap is provided for the washer, so bring your own if you want to use it. I used the dryer to dry our towels after swimming. BEWARE of the step between the living room and the porch. I almost tripped on it. The lodge's indoor swimming pool is advertised as heated. It was NOT. It was so cold. My daughter could bear it for only about 5 minutes. My 7-year-old granddaughter and I managed for about an hour. One other couple joined us and lasted about 10 minutes. The pool is small. Trying to swim laps was rather hard. I suppose the pool will be refreshing in the heat of the summer. It was warm outside when we visited in May, but not hot. They shouldn't advertise it as heated if it isn't! Plenty of complimentary towels and restrooms were available. There is no shower in the pool building.
We rented the luxury "red rock home" villa at Goulding's (room 340) for our party of 4 (3 adults and one child). It was pricey for staying less than 24 hours. We would have enjoyed it more if we had stayed longer. Check-in is at 3 pm, and check-out is at 11 am. We checked in at 4 pm and left the next morning at 9:30 am. The villa is a 3-bedroom, 2-bath stand-alone house with a kitchen, laundry area, living room, and back porch facing Monument Valley. My husband and daughter got up at sunrise and captured glorious photos of the sun rising over Monument Valley! The beds were comfortable, and we all slept well. Our back room was darker than our daughter's forward room. The villa was clean. The decor is dated, with 1980's-1990's blocky brown furniture, but there is lots of storage if you need it. Plenty of bath towels were provided, with extras in the bedrooms. Small complimentary toiletries and soap were in each bathroom. There were pots, pans, dishes, and a small dish soap bottle, but no dish brush. I could only find a dirty sponge under the sink that looked like it had been used on the floor. Needless to say, I did not wash any dishes. There is no dishwasher. There is a large refrigerator, microwave, and stove. We reheated Chinese food for dinner and made pancakes for breakfast. We bought the pancake mix at the small but well-stocked grocery store in the hotel complex (next to the gas station). The villas are a distance away from the main hotel. The pool, museum, and restaurant are not within walking distance, so you must drive to get there. The museum is free for guests, about the Goulding family that founded the lodge and the many connections to Western film-making that occurred at the lodge/Monument Valley. Parking is good at the villas. We had a covered parking area for our truck. The parking area could fit several vehicles if multiple families stayed with you. I would stay there again - for over 17.5 hours!

GermanyThere were wild dogs roaming the grounds and coming onto the porch. This was a bit scary as one couldn't know if they were friendly or aggressive. There is only one option for food close by, the Goulding restaurant. There staff was not very friendly and attentive and food was overpriced.
We had a little house for ourselves with a porch. In the house there was a separate bedroom and and an additional Queen bed in the living room. Overall the cabin provided enough space for four adults and a lot of luggage.

GreeceI did get the feeling of “mass production “. The check in process was a bit “cold” and the overall ambiance of the accommodation was “ hi” - “bye”, ….”Next”. But I really can’t say anything was amiss or not in order.
A brilliantly located hotel, with everything you can need within a short distance. The room was comfortable and functional, the restaurant was excellent.
