Going up and down the hill was a bit of a challenge especially when it was so hot. Other than that, no issues or concerns.

The view of the lake and mountains is spectacular. The buffet breakfast is very good and contains a variety of food choices. The bartender was very friendly and offered some tips on what to see in the area. The pool area was really nice though it would have been nice to have some umbrellas outside the pool area for shade.

Keep in mind that walking back to the hotel from the town's main street does involve a short climb, but nothing too crazy...

The hotel is on a small hill with a beautiful lake view. We enjoyed sitting on the grass with a glass of wine. The staff was helpful and informative, spacious room, nice gym, good breakfast, overall we had a great time.

My son called hotel to give me a birthday gift surprise. Was given the runaround until finally a hostess helped him. He sent a bottle of wine to my room. I called hotel direct to make reservation and was told to call back the next day.

Wished that the fireplace actually warmed the room, and wasn't just for aesthetics. The location on the hill is great IF you don't plan to walk around town. The walk back up is quite an effort!

Very large room with nice views to the south. My room was also very far from the lobby, which I really preferred. It was a great place for a solo-escape weekend. I visited the pool/hot tub, and it was nice enough. I stayed in the hot tub for quite a while, and the only reason I went into the main pool was to cool off. I ate breakfast in the main room and enjoyed a nice view of Mirror Lake while I ate breakfast. I was very comfortable, but a little cold, and I wished that the fireplace actually put out heat instead of just being for ambiance. It was really nice to go in mid-April when there is NO one in town. Very relaxing if you're looking to get away.

There was an ancient, noisy airconditioner with the compressor built in. Simply opening the windows at night was not an option because they didn't have webbing against the insects. The hotel is getting a bit dated, will need some refurbishment at some point.

Clean, comfy rooms, with beautiful view. Big and comfortable bed. Location is central yet calm. Plenty of restaurants/shops are at short walking distance. Some other reviewers wrote about the steep hill but I think it is easy to walk up and very short. Friendly staff.

The breakfast was pretty pricey. The hill you had to climb up to get back to the hotel was too much for my very pregnant wife The outdoor patio was not pet friendly.

The Crowne Plaza is ideally situated in Lake Placid. The hotel itself is very cozy with several lounges that make your experience feel luxurious and wonderful views of the lakes and the Adirondack’s. While there, we took a picturesque walk around the lake. Main Street is easily accessible walking from the hotel.

Unfortunately we got a ground floor room close to the pool and it was very noisy. Lots of kids running at all hours and guests didn't seem to realize there were rooms in the ground floor, so adults were also noisy walking by the door. For the type of property, the rooms were a bit outdated, small details like the closet was tiny with really bad doors that wouldn't slide correctly, only paper cups available, not very good lighting. It was clean, though, and the beds were comfortable enough, so not a huge deal if you are not going to spend much time in the room. We did like to relax a bit in the PM after exploring the area and these things were inconvenient. The pool was rather cold, so I only really enjoyed the hot tub, which of course was in high demand given the temperature of the general pool. Even kids had to come into the hot tub to warm up here and there. Breakfast was just acceptable for the price, regardless of getting buffet or a la carte, and they only offered the buffet option on some days, probably optimizing for the amount of guests to open it.

The view of Mirror Lake was amazing and the location great. The staff was nice enough and the outside of the hotel was really pretty and well kept. The fireplaces were very nice to sit outside of the room for a bit.
