Dee who greeted us upon arrival was excellent, knowledgeable and friendly. The room we were allocated was amazing with a big copper roll top bath. Decor was great for age of hotel and extremely clean.

Great location and great history. we came for my sons birthday weekend, and we really had fun, especially with the history and the spookiness. we will definitely come back

excellent perfect location, restaurants 100yds away, beautiful courtyard and manager staff super, helping us with a few special problems, including icepacks for injury incurred previous to arrival. 10 min from Zoo and 10 min from Seaworld. We will be back for sure. Highlight, since what everyone wants is good people running the show.. Don't like leaving comments on good places, want to keep them for myself. Really. but feel obliged as staff was top shelf.

Window shades failed to darken room. Bright light from out on the surrounding deck poured in around the shades, which were smaller than the windows.

The charm of this hotel is that it is old and characterful. Don’t set your expectations for a TV or flashy decor or you will be disappointed. We really liked this place because it didn’t have those things.

Dee was most welcoming and gave us lots of useful local information. Room and bed were very comfortable and we had a good nights rest. We did have the complimentary coffee and pastry the next morning which was much appreciated, thank you. We enjoyed reading the room reviews from previous guests which all gave more atmosphere and history. This is a historic gem and if you like that kind of thing then you will love this place - we did.

The room roll up shades didn't quite block out the exterior light that is directly outside the window.

The hotel manager Dee is really nice and goes above and beyond to make sure you feel welcome and responds to communications rapidly.

A lovely, quiet, albeit sometimes spooky, stay in a part of San Diego History. There is no TV, no phone, no distractions, no regrests staying at The Cosmopolitan.

Loved everything. This is an historic property, so it comes with the quirks one might expect. With that said, I'll never stay anywhere else when in San Diego.

Did not have the breakfast. The location is right on the Old Town plaza and is just lovely.

The only thing I didn’t like is that I didn’t realize that I had to bring a plug in charger adapter. I brought my cords, but I didn’t bring the box to charge them.

Best location it was near so many stores, restaurants, everything within walking distance and I felt 100% safe with my family

The room was facing outwards, not the courtyard, and therefore could hear the traffic. For a short stay ok. To access the hotel needed to call, thereafter was easy to access.

Breakfast was simple and basic. Some fruit, toast with jam & butter. No other condiments. Some muffins (too sweet... but that is the overall USA problem). Coffee, tea. Cereal & milk. It was nice to sit in the courtyard instead of the breakfast room. Rooms were nice, clean. No carpets :) New showers and well functioning. Large bathroom. Liked the public transport accessibility. Very convenient location.

The blinds on one of the windows did not cover the entire window. Felt a little self conscious to have a very clear view into our room. We used a sheet to cover the gap.

The hotel was a vision. It has been beautifully restored and maintained. I heard people say it's like staying in a museum and they couldn't be more right. Dee is a wonderful manager and started off our anniversary weekend in the most charming way. We made our trip all about Old Town and walked everywhere. It was a great way to really soak in the rich history of the area. Beds were incredibly comfortable!

Charming wild west experience! Beautiful courtyard with citrus trees! One minute's walk from Old Town transit centre (free shuttle from airport). Dee is a chatty and helpful host.
