The air conditioner wouldn't get colder. The weather was cloudy and slight breeze, so we sat on the lanai and enjoyed the view.

Room was comfortable and the view of Coconut Island, downtown Hilo, and Wainaku was beautiful. We were on the 4th floor and it was easy access.

The rundown, abandoned hotel next door was sad.

Excellent location with gorgeous banyan trees on the boulevard. Appreciated the free continental breakfast and loved the open air lobby and Hawaiian music playing. The pool area had a nice view. I wish it was open longer. Plenty of parking. Bed was very comfortable. Room was spacious.

The windows don't seal out the noise very well. I was on the very end, next to a parking lot, and was startled several times by cars honking when someone locked the car doors.

The room was very spacious, and had a beautiful view of the ocean, Mauna Kea, and Mauna Loa. The staff were very helpful and friendly. AC was a little loud, but worked great.

Our room was quite outdated and there was an odor of moisture. The paint was bubbling off the wall near the ac. We found a few spiders in the room. And there was a layer of white dust throughout the bathroom. Besides this we enjoyed our stay but for the price we hoped the accommodations were better.

The way that the lights in the dressing area were connected to the bathroom area. When others were still asleep you had to turn on lights that would ten wake them to simply go to the bathroom.

I don't think the $36 for a resort fee. is realistic. You can go over to the Hilton and pay the same thing for a resort fee and get a lot more I was quite surprised that they charged that much for a resort fee.

Tub/shower drain ran slow

It wasn't too big; has all of the amenities-continental breakfast included, air conditioner, laundry, fitness center, restaurant and bar on site, walkable to town, easy to park a rental car, friendly staff, bed was comfortable and the adjacent park is beautiful

We liked the pool but were disappointed that it didn’t open until 9am. That’s too late for families with children. We did not like the lack of a kettle or toaster in the rooms. The amount of single use plastic is absurd. Every hotel in Hawaii needs to up their sustainability game. The garden facing rooms were average compared to beach facing.

Friendly staff were a highlight. The location was perfect for us, walking distance to our world sprint outrigger canoe champs, and the Japanese gardens next door are fantastic.

Breakfast was inconsistent. No info in room about room service, hotel amenities, or local restaurants or take out, taxis, transit, etc. Fridge tips over when you open the door. Towels a bit small. A few signs of neglect (Covid revenue slump, we assume). Unless someone was sorting garbage in the basement A LOT of recyclables were going out with the room cleaning trash.

View, location, relaxed atmosphere, very friendly staff from cleaners to check-in staff. Impressed with a/c that shuts off if sliding door is left open! Lots of pillows!

They offered a “continental breakfast” included in our stay. That was the only thing I have to say was not satisfying. What they did offer was tasty but really not breakfast… some of the other guests were very noisy but that wasn’t really the hotel’s fault.

The property is located in a beautiful spot with a nice view onto the water. It is situated close to the town by driving and 25 mins by walking. The street is lined with stunning banyan trees and right next door is an incredible park. Our room was very spacious and nice. The lobby is beautiful. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lots of free parking available.

No utensils in the room (such as a spoon, a fork or a bottle opener). If you want to grab something from a nearby convenience store, it may be a good idea to bring with you the disposable utensils which are distributed during breakfast. The bathroom curtains could be one inch longer - even that much would greatly help not to spill water all over the floor while taking a shower.

Friendly staff, welcome drink. Very convenient location as a starting point for organised trips in Hilo, it's also relatively close to the Hilo airport (although not exactly walking distance). Breakfast is very simple, but it's better than nothing.

Cost could have been a little better. When we checked in at 2:45pm. A room wasn’t ready but if we wanted it now we would have to pay $15, otherwise wait till 3:00 pm. They said that they will call me when it is ready, they never did, I walked up to the desk at 3:20 pm and they said they have a room.

The location and it was clean. I would stay there again and again.

The breakfast was super small. Two to three bread options, two fruits. No local ones most days, two juices, and coffee, also oatmeal. (Luke warm) One box for each room (not per person)

The view was amazing, the staff were always happy and smiling. Complementary drink at check in. Coconut Island is right outside. It's beautiful, great for small kids to play in the water. Sea turtles hang out there too! At night we saw manta rays. Beautiful sunset! Take your hammock!!

The hotel changed its name, which caused some confusion on Google Maps, but parking is free. The hotel equipment is a little outdated, but free coffee is provided.

The location is perfect, the view is beautiful, the staff is friendly, and the breakfast is delicious and rich with a complimentary breakfast box.

The oceanfront room that we had was 206 disappointed with the ocean view there was a big tree in front thus limiting the beautiful ocean views the ice machine is located above the elevator on the 6th floor our room is located behind the reservation desk which you would have to walk upstairs and down the hallway to get to that room I’ve been there before and had oceanfront room above the elevators which gives you a great view of the ocean the next time I will be asking for oceanfront rooms above the 5th floor on the swimming pool side of the building other than that I still like staying here and will return again
