Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

I do like older hotels but struggled with our luggage up the stairs and then found out as we left that there is a lift to the floor elevator. No one to help. I’m really surprised there was no coffee in the lobby for guests. Rather unwelcoming. I know there’s a little pot in the room. But just one cup each. Bath tub is VERY slippery. The weather was great so it wasn’t a problem getting from the parking lot to the front entrance but on a cold, rainy day with suitcases it would be very uncomfortable. I think for the price they could add a few amenities.

United StatesThere were foot bits (Cheerios) on the floor near the nightstand. The kitchenette should be sure to have the proper amount of kitchen essentials (plates, forks, knives, spoons) equal to the number of guests checking in (I had two plates, two forks and one spoon when I arrived). The refrigerator should be on and set to cold prior to guest arrival (mine was not).
What breakfast? The location was very convenient to downtown Oak Park.

MaltaGood place to stay. We chose it specifically to be away from Chicago city center, but it is easily accessible by metro and quite safe even at night. Although we had a car, we did not use it and preferred to travel by metro as it is quite cheap and efficient. There are a few restaurants close to the hotel. Parking is available on a first-come first-served basis, but we didn't have any issues in parking there.

GreeceThe room was a bit dated, resulting in a number of noices which were a bit of a nuisance. The location is not ideal for visiting downtown Chicago as you need an hour in each direction if travelling in the morning or the afternoon. When we returned to our accommodation at night, after dinner, the distance was easily covered in 20-25 minutes.
A very impressive hotel in a nice neighborhood, with lots of stores and restaurants within walking distance. Room was functional and comfortable, with charm and flooded with beautiful light in the afternoon. Staff was polite and accommodating. Parking place was easyto find and very convenient once you had unloaded car in front of hotel. The hotel had a few stairs in the main lobby area to get in an out of the hotel but a small elevator was available to help wheelchairs and carts with luggage.

United StatesThe location was close to trains and in a very pleasant part of town. Downtown Chicago is reachable in 20 or so minutes by CTA or Metro. The hotel restaurants were appealing and one stayed open late. I would definitely stay here again.

United StatesWe asked for travel cribs in our reservation notes as well as calling ahead the day before arrival. We also asked at the front desk on arrival, but still had to call down as there were no cribs in our room. This was not great with two small kids losing it at bedtime. That said, the front desk staff were nice and apologetic, and we have no complaints about the rest of our stay. The soap holder in the shower also did not appear quite clean. Our room was very dark and quiet overnight -- had a great night of sleep, which is so very appreciated in a big city stay!
Location was great, the room was huge. We found the overall independent, non-corporate/chain feel of the hotel charming, and the bar staff at the connected restaurant was very friendly. We felt welcomed by everyone we interacted with. We will be returning for any stays in Oak Park in the future.

United StatesWas overly warm and we couldn’t regulate the radiator. The bed was a bit lumpy. It’s an old building, so expect radiator noises.
Very convenient location to sites we were visiting. Excellent on-site Italian restaurant. Very clean. Charming old-school vibe. Fridge, microwave, coffee pot, and dishes! Included off-street, free parking.

United StatesThere is no food in the hotel until 11am. I didn't see anything about room service either. No paper towels, soap, or dishes in the kitchenette except one plate and coffee cup. When you check in or out no one offers to help you with your luggage. The mattresses are not comfortable.
This location is within walking distance of a lot of restaurants and shops. My room was clean.

United StatesThe price was high for not having a breakfast available on site. The decor could use some updating, wallpaper and carpet.
We went for a full breakfast at the Cozy Cafe twice. The food was pretty good and the walk was only 2-3 blocks. The service was very good. We also went to a local french bakery which was excellent but had limited pastries. The hotel was a bit understaffed so there wasn't always someone at the main desk for answering questions. The location was very nice and convenient for visiting Oak Park. The bed was very comfortable and the space in the room was nice with a kitchenette available. Use of the YMCA, two blocks away was great.
