Not King Frederick’s problem, but the entire town shuts down by 6. We loved the information card we received at check-in was very helpful all the details, except it would’ve been nice to know. Dinner options open after 6 PM, since we were visitors to the town.

Danish from Olsen bakery was delish. Would have liked yogurt, or cold cereal and fruit.

The walls were thin, we stayed at bottom suite so were bothered by noise up above. Also it would have been better to have a hot breakfast , the danish continental did not give a lot of choices plus no place to eat at by the lobby, brkfst had to be brought to the room.

Location was fantastic, close to everything, Stores, Restaurants, the Mission, Park, etc...we walked all over , did not need our car. We intend to go back in December, the best time to be in Solvang!

Old facility. Electrical outlets didn’t all work and paint could use some touch up on the room. Random equipment stored haphazardly on pool/ central area. Carpet on outdoor stairs needs cleaning.

Perfect location. Very friendly staff. Pleasant old school environment. Would stay again if it was just for a night or two. Comfy bed.

Hotel is next to a main road so woke up early due to noise from cars. But to their defense they did have noise machines in the room & provide earplugs upon request which we didn’t do. Room is also very small & basic.

The staff @ the reception desk was very friendly & helpful. The location is very central & within walking distance of restaurants, tasting rooms, bakeries etc. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was provided but we didn’t eat @ the hotel since we were having breakfast with family @ a nearby restaurant.

It could use some updating

The location of the King Frederik Inn cannot be beat. How lovely to be so close to a park and a trolley stop! And all the check-in staff were helpful and accommodating. We felt completely safe and at ease on this property. It is a good value. Having said that, there are areas that perhaps are a little worn but everything is clean and we had no trouble sleeping through the night. We noticed that there was a boisterous and happy senior cycling club on the premises, and that was fun to observe. The pool is well cared for, although we did not use it.

The room only needed 2 things to be absolutely perfect, another place to plug in devices (the single end table had plenty of options but was a bit small for 2 people with IPads & phones) and a comfy chair to sit in (aside from the desk type chairs provided).

Fantastic location, super clean room, comfy bed, and plenty of pillows. It was also great to have a microwave & fridge (with freezer) in the room. A bonus was a white noise machine, which we put to use since our room was directly next to the office/breakfast room & in front of the pool. It worked great!

Great location. Room with king bed spacious. Feared it would be noisy as facing the pool (pool hours 9a-9p) but slept very well; I didn’t even hear our neighbors. Free breakfast is very simple.
