Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndiaWe had specifically booked the sea beach villas at much higher cost as being ON the beach was super important to us. Infact that was the main criteria for our selection. On the day of our arrival we were informed they do not have the villas available due to some construction work, leaving us no choice in the matter. Though they did give us a very nice sea view villa, the disconnect from the beach to our stay mattered a lot and that is why I have marked the stay as 'not perfect'. I wish we were told before so that we didn't feel that we had no choice.
Quiet village with excellent service and location. We had 4 near perfect days in Koh Yao Yai Village.

SwitzerlandAbsolutely nothing!
It was one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed! The location was just sensational, the bungalows were so beautifully made. It felt like you had a bungalow in the middle of the jungle. The staff was really friendly. I wish we had booked a bit longer than 4 nights, because I can’t say anything bad about this place at all.

JapanVillage Resort is about a 25-minute drive from the island pier and all other main places of interest in the island. As the name suggests, it has a village-like feel, with separate villas spread across the property. We stayed in a deluxe villa, which was a good size, it has an external seating area, bedroom, and bathroom. The bed and shower were great. However, the room had a strong moldy, humid smell, which was a bit unpleasant. The resort amenities were nice, especially the oceanfront pool and the restaurant where breakfast is served. We didn't try the spa due to the high prices. Fortunately, there are a few local massage places just a few meters from the hotel costing only a fraction of what they are charging in the hotel. I highly recommend Leela Massage, which is about an 8-minute walk from the resort. Overall, it was a good stay, but there are some areas for improvement like Reception Standards & Communication. When we arrived, we weren’t offered a cold towel, which is a common practice in Thai resorts. This may have been an oversight on their part. Also, when we inquired about renting bicycles, we received different answers regarding prices. Some of the bikes had flat tires, and when we asked if they could be pumped, the receptionist said they didn’t have a pump. I don’t understand why they would offer bikes for rent that aren’t in good condition or have no plans for maintenance. In summary, the stay was pleasant, but the resort could benefit from better communication and attention to detail.
Breakfast was amazing. They had different local freshly cooked options and also a delicious herbal tea you can do for yourself. It is served ocean front and really pleasant. The only set back would be using boxed juice for some options (there was also fresh juice!). Location wise it was very good too, peaceful and natural. They had amazing coffee in the hotel and the ocean front bar and pool are really good. Also had stanup paddle and kayaks to lend freely.

AustraliaTransport on the island is limited, but a car to shuttle us from the pier would have been preferable to an open truck/collectivo and its diesel fumes
Lovely selection of local and European style food at the buffet with something new to try from the friendly chef each day..Fabulous open air restaurant overlooking the gorgeous horizon pool and the ocean, dotted with karst islands. Idyllic! Our bungalow was set amidst the cooling tranquil forest with peaks at the ocean and numerous birds among the flowers

AustraliaHmm, it's actually hard to come up with something.
We were very impressed by the tasteful appointment of this resort and its natural setting. The facilities (restaurant and pool) are so well laid out and beautiful that they it was the best we have been to, and my husband and I have done a fair bit of travelling. Staff were really good, shoutout to Tewit on breakfast service each day as he was fantastic. Great happy hour specials too. Villas were spacious, beautifully appointed, and very well designed. We loved the large bathroom and outdoor shower. It's one of the few places we would love to return to and look forward to doing so.

FranceWe stayed in a one bedroom villa, and the room itself was sadly a bit dark. Partly that comes from being in the forest, but I think other categories are proboably lighter. In retrospect, the villas with sea view at the hotel entrance are a killer, we should have booked that. Be aware as well that the muezzins are calling for prayer at least 3 times a day, sometimes at 5 in the morning, and you will hear it.Nothing to do with the hotel, but still.
The setting of the village resort was incredibly beautiful. In the middle of a rainforest, but manicured and very well looked after. I couldn’t get enough of all the greenery, and the noises from all types of creatures living there. It’s a feast for the eyes. Our room was very spacious, and the massive terrace turned out to be exactly the resting place I had imagined it to be. The view, and the pool are exceptional. Food was good, keeping in mind that they mostly cater for western tourists, but when asked for spicy, it always was. Prices were actually quite reasonable, we ate outside of the resort a few times, and wherever it was geared towards tourists, the prices were similar. Of course, little mum and pop places are way cheaper, but that is an unfair comparism. Staff were very kind, and we had no troubles at all.

United KingdomThe speed of service at the restaurant and pool bar was very slow at times. The staff needed more training and they needed more people generally. The second pool was closed and the beach bar closed for a day.
The rooms were nice, the main pool was excellent with stunning views and the prices for food and drinks were fair for a hotel.

United KingdomThe beach looks lovely but isn't actually great if you want to do any sports other than a little light paddle boarding. There is not much to do on the rest of the island.
The location is stunning with the most beautiful view, the pool is exceptional. The restaurant was good for breakfast, dinner and drinks. All the staff were lovely. Our villa was huge, clean and really comfortable.

GermanyThe resort Is wonderful and perfect for nature lovers who still want to enjoy the beach and pool. From the comfort of your terrace you can see monkeys, squirrels, lizards and friendly cats. It's a small paradise. The staff is very kind and can organise transfers and tours. Breakfast and check-out times are quite generous. Guests can use SUP boards and kayaks. The infinity pool is gorgeous. The bungalows come with a lovely terrace with patio furniture, mosquito net and fridge. The bed was extremely comfortable. We felt truly at home here.
