While the grounds and landscape were very nice, it didn’t live up to the photos on the site because there is needed upkeep and maintenance of the landscape.

The property was in a great location just a quick drive to Monsarz and many locations in the area. The breakfast was very good and there are many different seating and outdoor spaces including indoor spaces to enjoy. We stayed in the apartment and had just enough cooking utensils and pots to make a basic meal. The pool was very nice and was a relaxing place to sit and enjoy. The grounds were also very nice. Great place to stay and would stay again.

Amazing property with great staff in a perfect spot to relax

Outside area and room recently washed (understandable), but meant that it was slippery outside and the floor never dried inside.

Despite some language barriers, communication with staff was achieved and able to make ourselves understood. This would probably not be a problem when the hotel is busier and more staff are present (only one in the evening and morning). Evening meal and breakfast were both excellent in very pleasant surroundings, and would be even better during the summer as could be outside. Location is very convenient for Monsaraz (as long as you have a car). Room was spacious, with good shower room, etc.

Only thing we didn’t like was the bathrooms were very small which is typical but these seemed even tighter.

Loved almost everything! Apartment was so cute, loved the two rooms and two bathrooms, living area and kitchen. Lovely, quiet locations. Beautiful grounds. Lots of breakfast choices. Great, close location to Monsaraz. Would definitely stay again.

Nothing negative to say. We had an excellent experience.

Beautiful quiet countryside location. Spacious bright clean rooms. Large shower with ample hot water. Breakfast included good food options. It was very chilly outside but the heater in the room allowed us to control the conditions. Staff turned down our beds while we were at dinner. When we returned we found they had also put hot water bottles under the covers to warm up. Nice touch!

We decided to have dinner at the property, since they serve meals there, and the price was very high for the amount of food they served.

The room was very clean and comfortable. The property has a great location for the Monsaraz castle and is close to other points of interest. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was delicious.

Lovely spot with a very roomy and comfortable bedroom suite, an outside patio and a view of the megalithic stone circle close by. Breakfast was delicious and there were lovely sitting areas outside the main reception and dining room areas.

A beautiful small charme hotel in a converted Farmhouse just 1,5 kms from fascinating Monsaraz, near the Alqueva Dam with great Watersport facilities. A large modern swimming pool within a beautiful country garden with many typical Alentejo tress makes this an ideal place to stay for a weekend or even a few weeks holiday. Katia and her Staff made us more than welcome, also with excellent recommendations for superb Restaurants and bars offering typical Alentejo food and wine nearby. 'Horta Da Coutada' also offers a charming bar with an open fireplace in an old barn and some selected Alentejo dishes for dinner, before going to sleep in a great on-suite bedroom with a huge and comfortable king size bed and a superb breakfast the next morning. Excellent value for money.

Unfortunately the swimming pool was not too clean and I had a constant noise coming from behind my room but the staff were helpful when I mentioned it to them.

The place is amazing and spacious. Well located close to the fluvial beach and Monsaraz. Great breakfast as well. Fully recommend.

Lunch required travel to the nearby village or driving up to the castle.

The staff was totally accommodating and friendly. The environment was fresh and quiet. The dinners were well prepared and gourmet quality.
