  • Hostal Gran Jade Review score: 10

“I had an awesome stay at the Gran Jade, the staff is super nice and help me a lot to organise my visit of the island, from knowing what I could do, and organising for me at the best price the motorbike rental, the kitchen is basic but totally suffisant”

“Centrally located and close to ferry port. Very good value for the price, clean rooms and bath. You stay with a local family which makes it authentic, they cook you dinner and breakfast if you ask.”

  • Finca Popoyo Review score: 8

“The dorm is huge and very airy, double beds, even when there’s no electricity you get the wind, location right at the surf spot (roll out of bed and surf basically), it’s a pretty place. During the day all the surfers come and hang out.”

“Teresa was absolutely lovely—an excellent host. Our room was very clean and the bed was large and comfy. Teresa was also an excellent cook we really enjoyed her pasta dish! We accidentally broke one of the tiles in the bathroom during our stay and Teresa was really understanding and we really appreciated that. The wifi was also very reliable.”

“Molamola is awesome! Really nice rooms we stayed 5 nights making it feel like home. Rafa is a great host! Motorbike and surfboards on site and right on the beach”

  • Hostel La Gloria Review score: 8

“It's a family-run Hostel/Homestay with very friendly owners. Super cool and very authentic, located in the jungle where you have screaming monkeys in the morning and fireflies in the evening. Amazing view over Concepción volcano. You can eat here or at Comedor Cristina 300m north fairly cheap. Tap water is drinkable. It's pretty quiet and not as frequented as other parts of the island. Showers and toilets are in the rooms, just as fans and power plugs. It's near to San Ramón waterfall and Maderas hiking trail.”

  • El Peregrino Review score: 8

“Super friendly staff, very helpful with arranging mopeds delivered direct to the hostel, comfortable beds. Amazing view of the volcano. They also very kindly looked after our bags for a couple of days when we explored the rest other half of the island.”
