“I will start by saying that I've owned and run hotels for a number of years, so I'm not always the easiest customer. And we absolutely loved Viva Tangerine. Firstly the location. I live in DR and I've always thought Cabarete beach is one of the best in the country. The hotel is just a few steps from the beach, the location is perfect We got our stay for an incredibly low rate (under $60 per person per night) and to be honest we weren't expecting much, but everything about this place surpassed our expectations. The highlight was the entertainment / activities team, led by the wonderful Lava Girl. In all my years of travelling I have never seen a group of entertainers who work as hard as these guys. There was something for everyone - a cookery demonstration, a foam party on the beach which was amazing, salsa lessons, trapeze, a show in the theatre. These guys really made our stay super special and created a lovely atmosphere in the hotel. I also want to mention the exceptional service by receptionist Joan, he took great care of us when we arrived and made sure I got the room I wanted. The food was also well cooked, and much better than we expected for what we paid. We had dinner in the speciality restaurants on two of the three nights, and the service and quality of food was on point. One other plus for me was the size of the hotel. It wasn't too big, so you could walk everywhere in a few minutes. I hate these massive all-inclusives where you have to walk 20 minutes to get a drink or go to the beach, Viva Tangerine is a perfect size. I am going to reserve another stay here, definitely one of my favourites.”

“I really loved the hostel. Everything was just perfect. The fact that it’s located on the beach is the biggest advantage. The room was clean, with fresh bed linens, free drinking water, and free storage for kiteboarding equipment. There are many interesting bars and restaurants around. I really liked the hosts; they are responsive and wonderful people. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends and will definitely stay here again next time.”
