  • Hótel Laxá Review score: 9

“The staff at Hotel Laxa were all fabulous and keen to ensure our stay was the best possible experience for us. We found the bed a bit firm so asked if they had mattress toppers...which they do, and installed them that afternoon. We slept much better from then! We stayed there three nights and had dinner in their restaurant every night. The food was delicious and creative. Although it wasn't 'spacious' our room had place for both suitcases to be lifted off the floor and opened without getting in the way of moving around the room. Although it didn't have a fridge, the staff were happy to store our milk in the fridge behind the bar so we could access it whenever we wanted tea or coffee using our room facilities. The views from the hotel are fabulous, and it's located away from everything else so it's quiet and isolated.”

“Easy access to the family room.”

  • “Perfect place to stop on the ring road. The rooms are fairly basic, but perfect for my needs as a solo traveller. The restaurant is also a hit in the middle of nowhere - as evidenced by the amount of local folk and truckers who cane in to eat.”

“Authentic icelandic big house. Nice interior design in the common area of the 'hotel'. Spacious nice common area. Friendly and helpful receptionist who was also the bartender, restaurant manager/waitress. Simple but good breakfast. Nice location near the beach. Clean and tidy.”
