“*Extremely good value for money given the location. For a couple of dollars more, I got a big ensuite room instead of just a bed in a dorm in one of the many hostels in the area! Guesthouse may not be in the middle of all the action but that gives the peace and quiet that are essential for a relaxing and good night’s sleep.
* The room is very well-insulated. Despite the oppressive heat outside, the room remains cool whenever I return after my day out.
*The hair dryer in the bathroom is a bonus for me and the wash basin in the room is very pretty.
*The staff are always ready to attend to my needs and are helpful to the extent of ordering the rice porridge from across the street and bringing it to the terrace so that I can have it for my breakfast. I paid for the porridge but the gesture is heart-warming.
* Near many cheap and good local Laotian food outlets. One just needs to venture out and explore.
*The walk to the night market and base of Mt Phousi (v close to the night market) is about 700m.”
“Firstly loved Lao. If you like the simple life a trip back in time, pristine jungle, waterfalls, rivers and caves this is the country for you especially if you love elephants because there is a lot.
The guys running the place were great the place is basic but nothing wrong with that.
The photos however are extremely misleading and should be taken down.
Hire a motorbike and go travel it's worth it.”
