“The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The staff really went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcome. They helped us carry some of the more clunky items, remembered and inquired after the activities we were undertaking, gave us a different brand of tea than the ones they usually stock rooms with free of charge even though we offered to pay surplus if there was one. The location was absolutely perfect, next to the station but never had any problems with noise, as Carlisle isn't too busy. Everything in Carlisle you'd want to visit was still within walking distance, taxi bay was in front of the hotel. The bathrooms looked a little dated but were clean and perfectly functional. The bar was well stocked and offered loads of variety. They were refurbishing part of the lounge as we were staying there (never inconvenienced us though), so it'll only get better.”
“From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. Our room was comfortable, clean and spacious with a nice ensuite. We loved the hands on approach of the owners Clive and Mel. They really went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Loved the riverside beer garden. The food at dinner and breakfast was delicious and very good value for money. Kaz the barlady come everything was amazing and she was working Dawn till dusk covering for a poorly colleague. She was lovely and a credit to the place. We had such a chilled out and enjoyable stay and would love to return soon.”
“We arrived after a long drive and were met and directed to our room immediately.
A welcome pint of very good beer set up a pleasant and satisfying evening. The portion size was, if anything, a bit generous - but that's hardly a complaint.
A good nights sleep led to an excellent breakfast and set us up for the final leg of our journey.”
