  • “very unique and authentic experience. The staff was outstanding, making us still a dinner at 10.30pm when we arrived late. Very helpful and accommodating. The house itself is unique and a special experience. views are breathtaking and the spa was amazing”

  • “Good choice if you're driving the Ring Road and need a stop before heading from the north to the south of Iceland (or other easy around). The hotel is a bit basic, but the restaurant serves amazing food – definitely worth dining there! They also offer free use of their washing machine and dryer, which was very convenient.”

  • “Spacious and comfortable hotel at the ringroad. Easy walk to shops. Restaurant and bar have good atmosphere with nice staff They do have a aurora wake up service!!! Some guy stays up all night and warns if there is something to see”

  • “We really liked our room, room 3, which faced the water and houses just across. The shower was good and strong, and the toilet was large. Beds were comfortable, and the room was nicely heated. More than enough space to open luggage and store items. Breakfast spread, which we paid for, was more than sufficient, and we were even allowed to take away extras. Note that during winter no restaurants are open in town, and you have to eat at Egilsstaðir, the town half an hour before. The drive can be challenging in the winter. The hotel did inform us of this nearing our stay date, but wish we knew earlier. I want to say we may not have chosen to stay at Hotel Aldan instead, but guess what? We saw the Northern Lights clear and bright, dancing across the sky. So bonus points I guess haha!”
