Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United Kingdom#1 - the Host. Sandra treated us as if we were family and made us feel very comfortable during all our stay. It will be my top choice if I ever go back to Sao Miguel. #2- Location. The accommodation is located in the north East of the island of Sao Miguel, making it an ideal hub for sightseeing around this area - Natural Park of Riberia dos Caledories, Gorreana Tea Factory, Farol do Arnel, Miradouro da Ponta do Sossego, Miradouro da Ponta da Madrugada, Cascata do Salto do Prego, etc. #3 - Village. Achada is a traditional very tranquil and picturesque town - if you are looking to be closer to nature without too many people around, that's your place. There's a couple of grocery stores in town to cover your basic needs.

Czech RepublicUnfortunately, there is mold throughout the house. In common areas, the owner solves this with scents, but there is not much that can be done about mold in the room or on the bed. In this case, the equipment would have to be replaced and then a dehumidifier should be used to prevent mold from re-emerging.
The hostess was great, very communicative, she recommended a couple of interesting places and when we needed to solve something, she helped us. The accommodation has a beautiful view of the ocean, is located in a quiet location and is close to many beautiful places. In the kitchen you will find all the equipment you need to prepare a meal. There is even a coffee maker, ice maker and toaster. Sandra gave us local tea, homemade eggs and milk to taste. From accommodation, you can expect to meet people from different countries and exchange travel tips not only in the Azores.

SwitzerlandI was little bit surprised, there were no closets in the room. We have stayed for 8 nights which can get complicated for two people with no option to pack off our luggage or hang on our wet clothes.
I really love the idea of a share house. It is nice to come “home” and talk to other people and hear some great stories. The owner Sandra is a treasure, very kind and helpful. And she does really great eggs for breakfast!

Netherlandsit was a bit more rainy for the time of the year, but c’est la vie :)
This was my third time staying at the guesthouse, as always my stay was lovely. The stay here is different than staying in a hotel since it’s a house you are staying in. It’s just much more personal and you can get in touch with the other guests and Sandra, the amazing owner and her family. The house has an amazing view of the ocean at the front and make sure you do the short hike to the old village and the super-short-but-hard hike to the cliffs for some great kodak-moments!

United States of AmericaOther two guests seemed to be long term residents and literally occupied the kitchen and the restroom. In the house was extremely cold, colder than outside. Even though the host gave us a heater in the evening it didn't help much since we had just short overnight stay. Other facilities were hard to stay in unless you have a winter jacket on.
The host Sandra is an amazing person. Very friendly and full of kind energy. The house is decorated with mostly vintage furniture, I loved it! The interior is made of solid wood which gives the house a richness. Big rooms, huge bathroom, fully equipped kitchen. Good location.

Francewe did not rent a car because it was ridiculously expensive ! In Achada, there is no restaurant, just a little mercado, and taxis are not always available. It’s better to have a car or a bike. However, we managed to visit what we wanted.
The house has a great view, and is very quiet. Sandra is very helpful, enthusiastic and always happy ! 3 bathrooms are available, and you can enjoy the sunset from the balcony or the terrace…

SerbiaThe place is a bit remote from the things to visit in Sao Miguel. It could have been a bit cleaner and there was this weird moldy odour of the towels and the room. Also, one bathroom is not enough when there are people occupying all the rooms so we had to wait every time we wanted to use the bathroom.
It was a fair accommodation for the price we paid.

United States of AmericaSharing one bathroom is part of the guest house- but it’s hard when many people need to use it. The towels were super stinky. They don’t have dryers in Azores so getting the towels dry I’m sure is hard. But I couldn’t use the towels provided they were so stinky and so I just used my beach towel I had.
Sandra, the host, is so accommodating and sweet! She is so friendly and sweet to our kids. She even gave them a gift as they left. The rooms were good for the price. Our previously booked place fell through so this was a great value for a last minute nights stay for a big family of 8.

Czech RepublicThere was a broken toilet in the bathroom near our room, so had to share another one with quite many guests. The room was pretty cold in the evening and in the night, a heater or warmer blankets would be appreciated.
We have booked the room at Sandra´s house just a few hours before arrival as we could not sleep outside due to the weather. We were surprised by the low price and did not have many expectations, but the house was really nice, the host absolutely welcoming, ready to help and provide you with anything she could. There is a small grocery near the house and the view from the house was stunning.

IndonesiaThis is a summer house so it's empty, cold and, due to the island's high humidity, very musty in winter. It would be great to have a desk and chair in room, as the bed is not too comfortable for computer work.
Awesome location for exploring Nordeste, super warm owner, privacy. If you love to do your own thing and have lots of space, it's perfect. We asked for a heater for our room and got one immediately. Good base for the north in winter and fine if you're out all day.
