Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaThe bed was a little rough
Location was pretty good, although some construction in the area, but not the hotels fault. The hotel had a nice and clean retro feel. The reception staff were quite nice.

IndiaWe landed at Porto and took a taxi Direct to the hotel. We had not gone to the ATM Yet to take out Euros. The person refused to let us check in till we paid the ,8 Euros in cash only for the tourist tax. So after a 12 hr flight we had to go looking for an ATM to take out cash. We said we were there for 2 nights and would pay when we got back after dinner, but he said that was the rule and was sympathetic but could not help. The was the only place in our entire trip where we faced such unreasonable behaviour.
The location was great! Right in the center and close to all the places we wanted to see. The room was functional and there was a basic breakfast.

United KingdomThe shower leaked onto the bathroom floor. But a very roomy bathroom allowed for a full sized bath as a alternative.
The old fashioned rooms and decor. The restaurant was a lovely cool airy room for the very good breakfast. It was a relief to get away from Hi-tech facilities which are often expensive superfluous services. Nice bright lighting in the bedroom - especially welcome to anyone whose eyesight is not what it used to be. Loved the original windows and shutters, a very effective blackout of light and noise. The system of handing in keys is to be recommended especially when the reception is always open, with staff who all seem to have excellent English. The location was perfect.

United KingdomI booked 5 rooms. Two of them were triple rooms which would have allowed the couples to sleep in separate beds. Only one of these rooms was a triple. The hotel said that this was all they had available but this room should have been pre-allocated. I was booking for 8 people through Booking.com. I missed the fact that Booking.com just allocated 1 person to one of the triple rooms meaning that just 7 people were booked in. We had to pay an extra 20 euros for the extra person though there would have been no change in price if two people were booked in the room.
The hotel let our cycling group of 8 people leave 5 suitcases for 6 days whilst we cycled from Porto and Santiago. The hotel staff were very amicable. On our last day we needed to leave at 7:30am - the normal time for breakfast. I asked for us to have breakfast at 6:50 and was pleasantly surprised when they agreed and laid out a small breakfast.

AustraliaThe rooms had not enough PowerPoints and didn't provide tea or coffee. Many are happy to stay because of the location.
The breakfast was healthy and a reasonable variety. It was served in a room breaking with faded grandeour. This was a magnificent building in its hayday.now past.

United KingdomMechanism on shutters to enable them to be shut tight would be an improvement.
The bed and pillows were comfortable. The bathroom was spacious with toiletries replenished everyday. The shutters helped with keeping out traffic noise.and light. 24 hour reception desk. The continental breakfast had a good range of options. Beautiful Art Deco building.

United States of AmericaI guess it couldn't be helped, but the noise from the construction outside. I have a friend who lives in Porto, and since my room was booked for only one person, they would not even allow her in my room during the day. I can understand if she was staying the night, but we were just going up for 10 min, and they said no.
The location was great.

United KingdomOur room was VERY basic. Hairdryer and heater in our pokey bathroom didn't work. Truly terrible pillows that we sneakily swapped with another room at cleaning time.
The hotel is an Art Deco gem, with public areas and furnishings apparently untouched since that era. Excellent location in the heart of the old city. Beds ok. Our room was very quiet, because it was at the back. Decent breakfast.
