Trying to contact someone

We were early, despite emailing hosts asking where we could leave bags, we still had t received a reply on arrival. We had a slightly stressful 20 minutes on the phone until it cut uis off. By then an email with the code had been sent over so we did get in early!

Accessibility and location that were the best in town. W e were in the very center of the action, right next to the river and at the same time a little out of the way, which was great because we had peace during the night.

It was a great location, but was slightly difficult to find. You can't drive up to it because the roads are not passable. We had a car and parked at a nearby car park after we figured out we could not drive there. The same will be true if taking an Uber or taxi. It is a short walk from a drop off near McDonalds or the car park.

I am really surprised that not many people mentioned anything about the level of lack of cleanliness of this apartment. Since this is managed by an agency, I will give them the benefit of the doubt that they are NOT aware that the cleaners are not really doing it at the level it is supposed to be. Yes, the property is vacuumed but everything else was just barely, or surface level cleaned. The bathroom sink/vanity and toilet were probably just barely swiped but the one where it is really evident is in the walls and shower enclosure. The mildew in the grout and rail of the glass doors have obviously not been cleaned in a while, very slimy looking grout, so it made showering uncomfortable. The kitchen counters also look like it was just barely wiped and so many fingerprint marks left on the glossy kitchen cabinet doors. So the certification of sanitary cleaning due to Covid doesn’t feel accurate in this case. The only reason we managed and felt comfortable enough is by just tking care of it myself because I always travel with Lysol wipes so I was basically cleaning surfaces that I can manage but left the walls of the bathroom alone 😰. lastly, there were some fresh food remains in the dishwasher. Also, as a previous reviewer noted, there was mold in the bedroom wall, a rather large spot. While I understand that the material of the building and the humidity can make it conducive to that, again, the cleaners should probably at least pay close attention to that so it doesnt grow. Secondly as others have mentioned, at least providing some basic supplies would have been helpful, if also at least just be able to clean up after ourselves too-like a fresh new sponge instead of the used one there 😳, a rag to wipe up spills and some coffee capsules! At the nightly rate of this flat which is on the higher end in Porto, it would have been a nice touch. The management company of this apartment is extremely responsive and communication is clear. It is a very BEAUTIFUL apartment in a WONDERFUL location, on the quieter end of the Ribeira district BUT the flat is not very clean. it would have been perfect otherwise

Shower wasn't brilliant, water not very hot.. The side view of the river was disappointing- you really had to crane your neck to see it! Coffee maker was fine - but only 2 coffee pods??

Location was good - close to the action of the riverfront but slightly to the side, so not noisy at night. Comfortable bed Spacious room.

The room wasn't ready when I arrived...so hard to even open the door..and the view wasn't as described and as in the photo..it doesn't feel like it's worth the price I paid for.

We arrived precisely at the check-in time of 16:00 when they said they would provide a building entrance code, as well as, a code for the lock box at the unit door which would have a key. I informed them we were at the building multiple times thru the messaging on Booking.com. I continued trying to message them to get the codes. Finally, I had to call them. I didn’t have an international cell phone plan so the phone call ended up costing me $10.00. I got a hold of someone and they finally provided the codes to me. We were outside the unit for over 1/2 hour waiting for some kind of communication. Over a 1/2 hour after the published checkin time, we received the codes. I’d hate to think if it had been raining. Not very good communication on the host’s part.

The property itself was fantastic. Great location and a lovely view. The kitchen and furnishings were nice. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom had everything I needed..

There is nothing to not like,it’s perfect.

This property was the perfect accommodation to base ourselves in to explore all of Porto. Very clean, well equipped, easy check in, comfortable bed, brilliant shower.

You are paying a premium for this property's location, but the apartment itself is very basic. Everything in the apartment from the couch to the bathroom to the linens seem like they have seen better days. Everything was clean, but it was all quite worn out and not fresh.

The location of this property truly can't be beat! It is probably as close to the river as you can get, and the view from the balconies is stunning. That was absolutely our favorite part of this stay. It is also very central with a ton of restaurants, shops, and sites within a five minute walk. I would say the location makes up for any amenities that the property lacks.

I would have preferred to have access to a shower mat as the shower tray was slippery. The toilet flush needs to be fixed as one has to hold down the plate. I tried to call and one is asked if one prefers English but then it doesn’t switch over to English.

Location was perfect and accessible, it was clean and had everything one needs for a comfortable stay.

We had a bit of a hard time finding the building the apartment was in but did finally find it. Taxi couldn't take us right to the building so had to carry suitcases and bags down some very uneven surfaces to get to the apartment. The apartment is very basic. Could be decorated to be more homey with simple things like throw rugs and pictures on the walls. Also no toiletries provided except one bottle of body wash that also had to be used for hand soap as there was none. Only 2 bath towels and 2 hand towels provided and 2 very small rolls of toilet paper for 4 day stay. We had to go buy more. These are very minor issues that could be easily fixed.

It was very easy to find keys and gain access into the apartment. Location of the apartment was perfect. Right on the river, beautiful view, lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance. It was very clean and had the basics. The balcony was gorgeous with doors opening straight out over the river. Very nice big screen TV with lots of channels. Internet worked well.

There are two doors to the juliet balcony but only one opened which limited the view.

The location was amazing. It was a bit difficult to find the place as the cab didn't really know where he was going but we managed to find it without too much trouble.

Wish there was another set of towels available. Should change the orientation of the sofa to look out towards the water. We actually did this and it was sooooooo lovely.

This is a regular rental apartment and felt a little sterile. More like a hotel room than an apartment, but overall very adequate.

Prime location very close to the river. Extra bonus that the apartment is on the margin of the old town, in a quiet location. Also, the restaurant just outside the entrance is great - perhaps one of the best in Porto!
