    Going home ..

So guys.. here we go.. Monte do Serrado de Baixo. They say location is everything, well for me this was the place. Ten minutes or so from Évora centre and yet, just far enough to be secluded and quiet.. It's a place to do exactly what you want to do, whether that's to relax or go super sporty or for sightseeing. If you want you can chill around the place, breathing in that fresh country air and letting time roll by.. with a glass or two of wine at hand, obviously.. Or you could take advantage of the amazing days out on offer, direct from the farm, hiking, cycling or even canoeing..!! All accompanied or you can rent bikes, etc and go solo.. Now if seeing the sights is your thing, well you are just around ten minutes from the main routes around Évora. You could stroll through the historic town, or perhaps visit another, Monsaraz for example, with it's castle high overlooking the surrounding countryside and it's river beach just a short drive to the lake below (and many more) What about a trip to a vineyard or a cheese maker's and taste the amazing food on offer in Alentejo. Now, enough... The farm, set in impressive grounds, offers 4 serviced rooms with access to a large pool. There are also two brand new for 2024 self catering cottages on the site, again with their own pool.. In the main building, an old house dating back a good few years, there are 4 rooms to choose from, depending on your tastes and pocket.. The rooms are well equipped and comfortable. They have coffee/tea making facilities, private bathrooms and private entrances, mostly leading out to their own outside seating areas. Breakfast is included and offers a fine selection of local produce, including bread, cheeses and meats and honey.. There are also Cereals with yoghurt, scrambled eggs, toast, fresh fruits and of course coffee.. Dinner is available on request, but you should try and book the night before. The staff are extremely friendly, helpful and...

Very cozy accommodation and warm welcoming staff.

I had no reply to my messages on booking written months ahead :( Finally, i had to telephone them last minute the day before, but only to receive a disengaged and unclear response (about vegan options at breakfast and about the possibility of an earlier check-in time or an earlier luggage drop off), which was very unfortunate as we had a wedding schedule to fulfill. Could use a few more plugs (either you charge your phone or turn on the bed side table lamp), a tall mirror in the room could be an extra. It's a traditional old alentejo house, so there's poor sound proofing and the house feels a bit humid, so you have to use a blanket and heater in May. The parking is awkward and far away from the door.

Peaceful location, with everything you need. They allow the guests to use a fridge for storing foods and a microwave in the kitchen. Comfy bed, spacious room and pretty decorations. Hot shower. Well cleaned. There was some natural herbal teas provided. A fire stone chimney lit in the house's living room.

It was difficult to find the farm, but once we were there, it was wonderful.

Cooked breakfast was fabulous. The whole house and farm was lovely. The staff looked after our needs well. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Nothing we disliked. all was perfect. as it was winter and a bit humid and cold, we have not tried the pool but I guess it is amazing in summer to chill around the farm, in the garden and by the pool!

Excellent property, very clean, just a few minutes away by car from Evora, in the countryside. Super quiet. Beautifully decorated - very homy. breakfast is very good . feels like at home! We even forgot something for our child at the location and the owner kindly sent it back to us very quickly ! amazing service, responsiveness.... Perfect stay!

Loved the place. But I will write couple of moments that did not upset or anything, but could be useful to mention. I would take slippers to my next trip as the floor is super cold (as in some other places in Portugal or Italy as well). Don't get scared of the white and black dog (it is very friendly) if you arrive in the dark. Google showed us the right place, but it was dark, and dogs were barking. It was a bit hard to understand which house was the main one.

We stayed for 1 night in November. Lovely and beautiful house, room and farm. Tasty breakfast (eggs, ham and cheese and bread, muesli with milk, yogurt, coffee, fresh juice, jams etc). You should have a car, if you want to have some sleep at a farm, as it is outside Evora town. We took a walk around the farm with a friendly dog, who was together with us. Loved the views, animals. Also the hosts were super nice. Shampoo, conditioner and even body cream in the bathroom. Conditioner made the room warmer. Loved the evening with tea and fireplace with actual fire in the living room. Totally recommend❤️

The room is too dark, would be great to have better lighting. The shower area could be bigger as well.

Staff are friendly and provided great suggestions about what to do. The place is really calm and peaceful. They have a lovely farm and at night with clear sky you can see an amazing sky full of stars. The breakfast in the morning was carefully adapted to our milk intolerance.

The bed was a little hard for my liking but comfortable. No nearby eating establishments. A 10 minute drive recommendation turned out to be closed at 6:30p on Wednesday and I didn’t want to drive 30 min back to Evora for dinner:( no food storage or cooking allowed by guest onsite. There were snacks, ice cream, fruit and beverages available for additional cost.

It was quiet, spacious and well kept facilities. I really liked having a private ensuite bathroom, wifi and plenty of outdoor nature to enjoy. The staff and owner were wonderful and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and I enjoyed meeting the other guests.

The staff seemed irritated with us. We annoyed them by buying a meal from a supermarket one evening and cooking it ourselves. We bought wine from the supermarket not from the B&B. Another evening we paid our hostess to cook for us. That worked better. It was delicious but the amount of food was more than we can normally eat, especially after an all-day wedding feast. One of the bathrooms was in need of maintenance. The WiFi worked only in the sitting room.

The setting is beautiful and the location was perfect for access to our wedding celebrations near Evora. For most of the time our family had sole use of the whole of the old farmhouse which is well worn but mainly charming and serviceable.

The breakfast was unorganized. It was late every morning and it took awhile to get coffee and eggs. It would have been nice if they emptied the trash everyday when they made our bed.

Peaceful, very quaint. Gave us an idea of what a farmhouse in Portugal was like. The hostess was very pleasant and tried to make our stay enjoyable.

They hosted a picnic the day we arrived--there were tons of leftovers, which we would have gladly paid for for our lunch. Perhaps this is something that could be offered to guests?

Breakfast was fantastic. This was the perfect rural retreat in our trip, with super friendly staff and lovely interactions with other guests. We were a little skeptical upon arrival--it looks a little more rustic than we'd thought--but found everything super comfortable, warm, and inviting.

we were given a room upgrade but never took it because our original choice was twin beds and the other room only had a double in. I would recommend when replacing your beds to put in a super king instead. it makes for a much more peaceful night for your guests having space to sleep in.

stylish, comfortable and very cool (as in chilled). the swimming pool was an added bonus. loved being able to walk along the viaduct too.

The old house is really charming, but the lack of sound isolation is a downside. We heared the people in the next room for most of the evening. It was not very disturbing, but it takes away some feeling of privacy.

Lovely location, excellent place to find rest and peace while being close to Evora. The hosts are really friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed the breakfast a lot. Also got a welcome drink which was really attentive. The walk along the Evora aquaduct and the cork trees is really nice.

The farm is located in a very quiet place. This makes the stay very relaxing. The hosts are super nice and make you feel so welcome. They make a delicious breakfast and were also helping when we asked for some snacks/lunch. The swimming pool and garden are a bit old but you can still enjoy yourselves there and chill in the sun (if you don’t mind all the flies flying around your head ;))

Wifi is non existent in the wine room. I had to wake up at 5AM and to go to the common area to get on the internet. At 7AM when the other guests woke up and started using the internet, I could no longer use the internet. The weather was cleared on that day so it could not be the reason for poor internet.

Beautiful landscape. The animals and classic car museum were great. Supper nice staff!
