Owner helped wash our clothes since previous place we stayed their washer broke. They were flexible enough to allow us to drop off luggage before check in time.

Beautiful house and garden with the loveliest host and great views. We enjoyed our stay so much! Breakfast is generous and tasty, the bed is comfy (a bit creaky though) and the shower is hot and powerful. We enjoyed exploring the Douro valley from the casa but also spent a day just hanging around in the lovely garden and near the pool because it's such a great place.

Absolutely nothing.

We had an amazing stay. The room was large, with all facilities. The room, common areas and the whole property were spotless clean. Several outdoor spaces to rest and enjoy a glass of wine. Within a 10-15 minutes walk you are in the village of Mesao Frio with services and restaurants. The location is great to explore the Alto Douro Vinhateiro region

The rooms were beautiful and the hosts glowed with beautiful, positive energy. The property is located in such a gorgeous part of the Douro Valley, and I wish we had more time to spend there and enjoy the premises!

My family loved this place. The grounds are beautifully maintained, the accommodations are clean and tastefully updated, and the pool is in great shape. The hosts prepare a superb spread of continental breakfast options daily, including fresh scrambled eggs which must come straight from the chickens on the property! A really lovely place to stay during our time in the Douro valley.

We stayed there for the second time and really enjoyed it. The apartment was very clean and beautiful, had delicious brekfast and loved the outdoor area. Mesão Frio is a good place to start discovering the Douro Valley.

Delicious breakfast with juice from home-grown oranges, home-made jams and eggs from the chicken in the garden. Beautifully renovated old house with welcoming owners. The garden is splendid!

we were on a trekking (Rota do Romanico) and this was our first stop. We arrived by train (along the Douro river) from Porto and reached the structure by foot. The place was great and we really anjoyed our time, but due to lack of public transport the only alternative is taxi. This was our only limit, but we were prepared :)

The host welcomes you in their home (literally) and serve breakfast in the living room, where you can enjoy the company of their cat. We woke up early, enjoyed the sunrise from the balcony, walked the garden and had the best time planning our next days from the cozy areas

The room was advertised as having private kitchenette, which wasn't true. At least where we stayed there were 5 rooms sharing a small kitchenette and fridge. It was fine for a short stay, but would have been discomfortable for longer stays. Breakfast was also very minimalist.

The place is really quiet and has a great view! The staff is also super nice (including the dogs)
