Try to get a room off the main street. Super loud!

If you like retro and a glimpse of prewar Poland, this hotel is for you. Breakfast is great. Regretted that we did not have dinner at the hotel, they have a duck special for 2 for 100 PLN, a real steal! Next time. The staff is great. I forgot my power bank and keys. Was able to get them sent home without any problems.

Two hotels called Focus! On our arrival in Bydgoszcz we went to the wrong hotel with a similar name! We arrived by train, but directions on booking .com didn't show ones for walking to the hotel, only if we'd travelled by car, so I did a separate search and only put 'Focus Hotel' in (without the pod Orlem!), which meant we walked a long way to the wrong hotel. Sadly, the receptionist at the sister hotel gave us poor and inadequate directions as to how to get back, which didn't help - especially as we were both very tired and ended up getting lost again!

Beautiful old building with ornate staircase. Large room comfortable room, ours even had a veranda! Lovely choice of breakfast. The waiting staff when we had our evening meals were brilliant. Very attentive. The dry ice bucket with the aromatic vapour was a lovely touch to our desserts! Made us very happy! While we may have had one or two issues with our room, however these were sorted out immediately. So well done to the team!

For a five night stay our room was only cleaned once despite hanging out a "please clean room" sign. Reception were excellent and immediately brought up loo rolls, etc. Bathroom fittings were adequate. Somewhat dated (circa 1980s?) with leaky taps and difficulty getting a pleasant hot/cold water balance.

Wonderful old fashioned (1896) hotel with more or less modern facilities . Excellent breakfast and first rate location allowing most of Bydgoszcz to be visited on foot.

I am from Bydgoszcz and I've passed this hotel so many times in my life and I've always wanted to stay here just one night. I've finally made that happen and it did not disappoint. Location is amazing, staff very friendly, rooms comfortable and clean. And it is really beautiful inside and out.

Location of the room. Really noisy . Trams start rolling at 6.30 am outside this hotel. You do not need a wake up call.

No A/C is a killer . It was 35 degrees when we were staying and there was no A/C so room was like a sauna.

Lovely vintage historic hotel loved that aspect Of it , the location was perfect in city Center 2 minute walk to everywhere.

The hotel is in a historic building, full of beautiful features. The main staircase is especially gorgeous. Rooms are not so modern, but spotlessly clean and entirely comfortable. Breakfast is very high quality and all staff members were really helpful and friendly.

While gluten free bread was provided for the breakfast the dishes available didn't have info re contents and had to keep checking. So a little more awareness of what helps those with special dietary requirements would good.

Very loudly street because of trams, all of the city lines passing under your window starting at 05:00 until late at night. There is nothing to do about it even if you stay with close windows in August, without air-condition, it is still unbearable.

The rooms with windows right close to the tram rails can get quite loud at night, which with a child can be bothersome

Everything, location was perfect, right at the downtown of the city, the staff was super helpful whenever needed and overall a great looking hotel

The hotel is old and some room facilities are partly broken - but staff is helpful mitigating those issues.

Location in the middle of the city is very convenient for many purposes. Staff is very helpful in willing to accommodate various minor shortcomings of the room. For example bringing in additional extension cords.

As there was no air conditioning we had to have windows open and the street and trams are very noisy. It has been like this for years so I liked that sense of history…..

I've could have done my homework and checked that there is a pub just next to the hotel. It wasn't quiet and it's hot to sleep with windows closed.

Amazing experience, hotel is ~120 yo and owners try to save the authenticity while giving the comfort guests expect. If you are staying here, be sure to have diner at hotel's restaurant. Food is very delicious, portions big, menu for kids (you don't see it online). After breakfast they offer a sandwich and coffee to go, which was very convenient.

No air-conditioning in any of the rooms, so need to keep the windows open giving you a nice breeze, unfortunately ( pending on the room you have) opening the windows will let all the street/tram noise in. Lack of air-conditioning has to be noted/advertised in the description of the hotel amenities

Great location giving you a walking distance to the Old Town Square, opera, Brda river and restaurants.. Beautiful historical property with great architecture. Nice service/staff.
