Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandService at any castle should be at the royal level. Amateurish attempt to run this kind of business.

United StatesNot a typical hotel: a place own by Polish Academy of Mathematics - hence not the same level of professionalism in processing the booking, invoice, reacting on mails. Gym is....well, not to be visited. Food ok - typical polish cuisine.
The interior of the palace is terrific - all common rooms are open and can be used. My room in the palace had magnificent view on the garden, was comfortable to work inside and had newly reconstructed modern bathroom. The staff was very friendly. Be open for surprises - like bumping into bundle of "strange" scientists being on a conference, where you are the only "regular" guest. Surrounding garden can be walked in 10 min - but there is a National Park (forrest & lakes) close by, where hiking can bring some diversity into your day.

PolandBecause we ordered a larger room (three persons) we did not stay at the palace itself. It has only one and two person rooms. We did not know this when we made our booking. Our accommodations were in a separate building which had all the charm of a cheap motel on the side of some less-travelled highway in the USA. The shower head in our bathroom was broken and could not be raised above neck level. Two of the three drawers in the desk had fallen apart. The beds were the worst feature. The mattresses were thin and soft, providing no support at all. Finally, there was no food or drinks available after 18:30, so evenings that could have been spent on the palace terrace enjoying the lovely view of the grounds were instead spent in an uncomfortable room.
The palace and the grounds were beautiful. The choice of items at breakfast while limited was fresh and very tasty.

Czech RepublicOnly small things can be easily improved. Printed Information would be helpful - with internet password, breakfast times etc. Matrass is should be replaced - old has "nests" for each person :-). Room floor was a bit dusty (seems that noone stayed in the room for some time and last cleaning was done some days ago). But these are minor things - we really liked the place and people and will be happy to return!
Most beautiful castle, both historical building with amazing museum-like ground floor and well renovated room (in historical style) and park. Very quiet Noone speaks English, but very friendly stuff, especially breakfast lady: When we appeared for breakfast in on Tuesday at 7.30 we discovered that breakfast starts in one hour, but she started for us coffee machine and brought some cold breakfast items. Good pillows. Unexpansive for such beautiful location and good room.

United KingdomThe main entrance to the hotel grounds is poorly lit and the internal access road is so pot-holed it is a disgrace. We arrived just after a conference group at around 7.20pm and the one receptionist was run off her feet; we had to wait 15 minutes to check in and the desk was unmanned when we checked out at 10am two days later. The room was cold although the central heating finally came on at around 4am. We counted 12 dead flies mainly on the window sills and floor. There was only one hanger in the wardrobe. The shower enclosure leaked onto the bathroom floor. The sheets and pillowcases were off white and seemed poorly laundered. Nobody came to clean the room/replace the towels.
The location and quiet garden surroundings are lovely; the building exterior in the Victorian gothic style is interesting. Inside however the decoration, furniture, and ornamentation are disappointing eg the arrangement of paintings on the walls and choice of chandeliers etc. Self-service breakfast OK but some items quickly ran out and were not topped up eg coffee.

IrelandAfter paying 420 a night we were unable to use the bar (closed all weekend) or the restaurant unless you were willing to eat dinner before 5.30. They shouldn't take bookings if they are umable to provide any service. We were treated like inferior beings just because we were not in a group. If we had been informed before hand we could have booked in somewhere else where we would have been treated like guests. If you want any kind of service don't stay here. It is Way over priced for a palace room. I tried contacting the manager.. Now more than 24 hours latwr no response.......
The Room in the palace (6) was tasteflully decorated but the bathroom flooded when you showered. It seems to be regular as the wooden floor outside the door has water damage.
