Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

LithuaniaA typical hostel and something you would expect for this price, however, the sound isolation of the rooms is very poor and you can hear the noises coming from the kitchen. Also, doors and beds were squeaky which added additional sound disturbance that kept me waking up.
Each bed had a curtain. Stove in the kitchen. Free keys for lockers.

Very clean throughout. Water very hot. Good location. Helpful staff. Accurate & thorough check in information. We did not find the part time reception hours created any problems.

CanadaFront desk is only open 10am-2pm. Checkin is after 2pm so check in is done virtually. For the few people travelling without European data plans it is annoying to find wifi to get the check in details. If you have a questions or needs while checking in you are out of luck. There are a bunch of keys sitting on the desk. If I was staying in a dorm I would not feel comfortable with that. Also the luggage room was just an un-watched room with a code. I did not feel my luggage was secure, and was quite nervous that the code would not open when I needed it (10pm) and there was no one to talk to if there was an issue. Especially since I paid for luggage storage I would expect it to be more secure.

United StatesThere was no locks on the dorm room, so anybody can come and go out of the room as they please. Staff were unfriendly and never around. Only one shower for all the dorm rooms to use, had constant issues with the water going from freezing to burning hot. Eventually, had to just shower in the sink to prevent being scolded again.

I like comfy beds, it was quiet as well in Women's dormitory, beds had curtains and lockers. There were many mirrors in the room which were splitting the room for privacy. Big reception, staff were there quite often. Few toilets and showers available all the time and clean. Great location.
