Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BulgariaOnce in a lifetime experience! Leonardo, Lina and their children welcomed us into their home and showed us how they live. They arranged all transport for us and we had a great communication via WhatsApp. They showed us around the islands, made us delicious breakfast and dinner, explained about their community and answered all our curious questions. The houses are spacious, the beds are comfortable and the view is truly spectacular. Thank you once again for the hospitality, it was great meeting you!

Czech RepublicCare of owners (thanks!!!) and excellent communication via whats up. They explained us how they live and arranged two nice boat trips around Uru islands and to Taquille island, so we were able to see real life of native people. They cooked for us also lunch and dinner, sold water. We could park car in port.

GermanyThe blankets were warm but heavy!
A superb and unusual location literally in the Titicaca sea. The accommodation floats on a reed "island" which makes for an interesting experience. It gives a one a good insight into how the "Urus" people live on the lake and how they cope with everyday life. Good meals provided by the owner and family who also arranged trips around the area. Bear in mind that this is a glimpse into how these friendly people live and not a luxury location. The facilities are basic but very reasonable given the area you're staying in. Hot water bottles and plenty of blankets are provided for the surprisingly cold nights. Plenty of sun cream and protection required for the intense sunshine during the day.

United Stateswater pressure was not as strong as desired, but should be pretty good for where its at (i dont have comparison). the water heater takes about 7 mins to heat up (which again, should be good for where its at)
the breakfast was okay, freshly prepared by the owner of the property. not much option, but you will have coffee or tea with pancakes with fresh fruits. the room we stayed overlooks the city lights at night and it is very romantic. during the day, the room gets really hot, however, we get to do lake tours with the owner. for a very reasonable price. lunch/dinner can be provided by owner for a fee, we opt to eat at nearby restaurants. and the owner can speak english very well.

GermanyThe toilet is without running water, which is something to get used to. And for getting around, you are dependent on the hosts and boats. These are two minor things, that have to be thought of when booking an accommodation on the islands.
Very friendly and comforting hosts, nice view from the middle of the lake, wholesome breakfast and dinner, nice service regarding getting around on a boat and booking a tour to taquile easily. All in all we had a great and relaxing stay, highly recommended

PeruWe wish we were informed that there are additional fees and cost to get from Puno to the property. It’s cheap but I would recommend it is included in the final price.
The rooms were very clean and had a wonderful view. Leo, the owner, and his family were very helpful during our stay and provided us with everything we needed.

Czech RepublicBe prepared for a freezing night :)
Lina and Leonardo are wonderful people and so was the stay with them in their floating hotel. The place is just breathtaking and worth every minute spent there. We only had a late evening and had to leave early in the morning so were worried if it makes sense to have a night on the lake - ended up on a romantic sunset boat ride towards the room as Lina picked us up, had a wonderful view from the room of the opposite hills and then very nice homemade dinner with the family. In the morning Lina made pancakes for us and with a foggy sunrise she dropped us back to the port. I recommend this special experience to everyone visiting Puno! Of course it's not a 5* hotel, but you will remember it 1000x more.

PolandThis was, without a doubt, the best accommodation experience I've had in Peru. The owner of the property is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere in this place is truly family-like, which made my stay even more special. The service was exceptionally professional, and the house owner takes great care of the guests. I highly recommend this place, and I will always remember the sunset on the termach

ItalyNothing, very satisfied
Lina and Leonardo know how to make you feel at homw, they offer you a very nice stay on their floating island in a private and well equipped room, with private bathroom. The night is a little bit cold, but the bed is warm enough thanks to blankets and to the hot water bottle, offered by Lina the evening before. They offer you also some pics in typical Uros clothes and they make you know the whole family, including a dog and a cat. Very good local dinner too and breakfast was full of options and good fruits! Before leaving, they gave us also a handmade gift, showing us how much welcoming a hosting family. Easy to chat with them on whatsapp, pick up well organized at Puno pier (included in the price). The day after we had to leave early and it was not a problem at all.

United KingdomLina who owns and run it is truly amazing she is driving the boat that pick you up from the port, the chef who makes your food and managing the little farm on the island together with her daughters and husband. To the family includes a dog, a cat , a few hens and a pig too. All very nice and helpful.
Its truly an experience, quite simple living standard but we had all we needed and it’s possible to add extra heating to the house.

United KingdomWater pipes frozen in the morning so had to use bottled water for hand wash - minor issue!
It is an amazing, peaceful, beautiful location. There was enough room for our family of 5 (inc 3 x giant teenagers). The food was good, bit too much for us! The hosting family were friendly and chatty, there was a very calm friendly dog. It was a fab experience and we felt privileged. Loved the hot water bottles!

United KingdomIt was absolutely freezing at night, dropping to -4. Although blankets and hot water bottles were provided it was still very cold. There were also lots of additional costs as there is not really anywhere to go to get lunch/ dinner and there is little to do during the day - we kayaked which was 80 soles each for 2 hours max. Personally I did find it a little uncomfortable being sold things by the family, as a honestly it’s hard to avoid but it does mean you’re feel more inclined to buy things which wasn’t my thing, although some of the products were pretty. overall it is a lovely experience but is very expensive for what it is, and it is cold!
it is unique in that it is situation on the lake on a floating island. We were picked up by a taxi arranged by the property and dropped at a small port where we were picked up by boat by the owner. The trip to the property over the lake was beautiful and it was a great start to the trip. We did have to pay 5 soles each as a toll fee to enter lots uros which we were not aware of. The rooms were cosy and warm in the day and the showers were modern. The toilet was a compost toilet. The breakfast was lovely and was predominantly, pancakes, fruit, hot drinks, bread and jam. Dinner and lunch were provided for an extra 30 soles each and soft drinks and water were also about 8 soles each. The family were lovely

United StatesThe comment has nothing to do with the hosts as they do not control the weather but make sure to bring warm clothes as it gets very cold at night. But you can ask for a heater.
Leo and his wife are amazing hosts, very friendly. They will cater for all your needs. The room is very specious and cosy. The food is qualitative. The view from the room is great.

PeruThere is no a proper bathroom in the place, but it's a different experience to share with your friends. You should try it once in your life!
I like the whole view of the sunset (it's kind romantic) and also the place its well located. I appreciate the good care of Sra. Lina, she treats us well and she gave us a plastic container fullfil with hot water so we could rest well because it was really freezing in the morning. However, for me i can say that it's a place to disconnect from your daily routine, but you should go ready with an extra battery charger.

United KingdomLena the host was so nice and friendly and gave us a great experience staying on the reed island with her family. The bed was super big with lots of blankets and she made us hot water bottles to help with the near freezing temperatures at night. We were snug. Meals were good: trout and chicken but large so we only had soup one lunch. Lena also took us on a really nice tour of the other islands and we got dressed up in some local clothes for a good photo opportunity

Germany-
We stayed only one night, coming from Copacabana, but we would have loved to stay longer. Leonardo organised us a taxi from the port to the private pier and picked us up with his boat, although we arrived quite late. His wife Lina welcomed us with a nice dinner. The next day we rented their kayak to have a look around the Isles and relaxed on the Isle. The room had a huge and comfortable bed with a view over the lake, the shower was big and had warm water and they gave us hot water bottles in case we got cold during the night. They both do beautiful handicraft work. We would come again.
