We had a great time at ayllu wasi, very welcoming It's close to the beach and also to town is only about 5min Breakfast is simple but good. The burgers are a must try if you stay there. Area feels safe and there is often a sit in of the neighbours in the evening, they are all absolute wonderful persons. It's not really clean, has a camping feeling, but with charm.

Room wasn’t overly clean, and we had no electricity on our first day and no water on our third day. No fault of the hostel but it did impact our stay. Shower pressure was very low and water always cold

Karina, the owner is really nice and welcoming, we arrived by nightbus at 5/6 am, and we were really happy we could stay from this time on at the Hostal. Our room was comfortable, the terrace was also really nice and the people, which stayed at her place were also cool as well :) One day we went to a place nearby, where Karina cooked for us and we got to know some of her friends.

I arrived early from Ecuador and was given another room to sleep in whilst my room was prepared which was very kind. Karina is a lovely host and made a nice breakfast. Location is near to everything but nice and quiet. Recommended

No hot water, but it was warm outside :-)

We arrived at 4 a.m. and had only booked a room for the following night but the owner was kind enough to let us in anyways and give us a place to stay! We could also stay longer after check out and could store our bags at the hostel after check out. The location is 10 minutes away from the beach and the value for the price cannot be beaten.

I had a bad impression of where this hostel was located, very remote area and you have to cross a plain to get to this place, I am a solo traveler and I didn't feel safe at all. When I arrived, I couldn't find the manager and had to wait at least 10 minutes outside the door. When I called her cell phone she told me to call louder because her children would be there. I found the place decadent and dirty, sheets in poor condition and no towels. If there had been an adult when I arrived, I would have gone somewhere else because the place did not match the description in any way, but there was no way to resolve it with a 12/13 year old child. Very bad communication in every sense, he gave me the opportunity to pay upon my arrival thinking that he was European (literal phrase) and when he saw me the next day he emphasized it, very rude attitude towards me. Máncora had problems with water, but they never told me that. I could have organized myself better or they could have provided me with at least a bottle of water for an emergency, the second day I bought it myself to brush my teeth in the morning and at night. Very bad experience.

the staff were the main highlight! they went above and beyond to accommodate to our needs. they were really friendly and welcoming, felt like a little family house. the breakfast was delicious and varied every day, the room had everything it needed and the kitchen was well equipped! also the location was great - it’s in a nice little neighbourhood with cafes around

Hostel was quite dirty ( no soap, no toilet paper and there was even a toilet seat missing). Breakfast was very basic.

Walls of the hostel are mostly made of bamboo splits and so the sound insulation between the rooms is practically none. Tea/coffee maker is only in the kitchen. The breakfast was inconsistent: it was supposed to be served from 8 to 10 am, but on my second morning still at 8:30am nobody showed up in the kitchen, and so I had to leave without breakfast to catch the next bus. I was bitten at night on my legs most probably by bed bugs.

It was affordable accommodation still not too far from the Máncora downtown. The beach was within distance walking under the Pan-american highway bridge. The upper floor terrace was a good place to sit and access Wifi, but dusty as all the town.

When we arrived at 5am we couldn’t get into the property as front door was locked, so it doesn’t have the 24 hour security as suggested on the list. So we wasted money on a Tuk Tuk going to and from the centre. Also we were overcharged as we were made to pay the Peruvian taxes even though we aren’t from Peru. So we had to pay 18% extra which wasn’t great. Also the kitchen was quite unclean, I wouldn’t want to cook there myself.

The room was big with a private en-suite. Host was really nice and even invited us for ceviche lunch which we didn’t have to pay for.
