Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaUp a rather steep hill which is not ideal with suitcases - but can always get a taxi Water pressure was not fantastic Towels and bath mat were thin
Our double room was overbooked so we were generously upgraded to a duplex room - perfect for our honeymoon, especially after the gruelling Salkantay trek Incredibly comfortable beds Great breakfast - plus option for takeaway on early starts Free water provided Spaces downstairs in the lobby to relax Hot water took a few mins to come in but was reliable Had a little box of "use again" for guests to drop off items they don't need anymore which I thought was a fantastic idea Laundry services for 15 soles per kg - drop off before 11am, return by 7pm same day. Ours took a bit longer but otherwise was very helpful! Beautiful shutters out to the street with great views over Cusco Toiletries provided

CanadaThis is a beautiful hotel with great staff and amazing decor, courtyard and patio. The location too is fantastic: easy walking distance to the city center and on the way to Saqsaywaman. One cautionary note: there are no elevators and many of the rooms are upstairs. Also, some of the rooms have skylights, which is great during the day - the rooms are bright - but skylights do not have blinds. Bring your own night marks unless you want to be awake at the crack of dawn. The biggest downside is that there is no hot water or heating available during the day. And, it gets cold in June! Hot water tends to be in short supply in the mornings and late in the evening. And bathrooms are poorly designed. They have heaters but these stay on only for a couple minutes - never enough to make much of a difference - and with no doors, the heat quickly dissipates into the main bedroom.

Paraguayalthough the staff was nice, their service was disorganized. Hardly to find someone in some in reception, poor English, no information about WiFi or other things. They make bed but did not clean cups or trash in couple opportunities. The breakfast was poor, not fresh fruit, and staff disorganized. For the price you can find other good places at plaza de armas easier to reach
The premises and gardens were nice, and the blankets and bed let you have a good restful sleep. Near the Plaza De Armas and San Blás. Breakfast box was a nice touch but not right days. Staff was gently but hard to find, good coffee.

United KingdomOne aspect you did not like about your hotel stay was the scheduled hot water and heating availability, which was limited to specific hours (5 pm to 10 pm and 5 am to 10 am). This posed a challenge when you had early morning plans for tourist attractions like Rainbow Mountain or late returns from Machu Picchu.
We enjoyed your sdue to the clean hotel with a comfortable big bed, tasty breakfast options, and excellent value for money. The location near the main square and the friendly, welcoming staff also contributed to our positive experience.

United StatesBesides main lobby and breakfast area, all other facilities are closed "under repair" but...there is no repair going on, they´re simply closed. No food service other than simple breakfast. No service nor any support after 10pm, the owner refused to open the door when we went to pick up our luggage, we had sent a message advising the return train from MachuPicchu was late and our departing flight was early the next morning. He didn´t care, he turned off the ringer/camera after we rang repeatedly and literally left us out on the cold. We had to call the police and complain to Booking for him to open the door after one hour. And to top it off, he complained about how inconsiderate we were to knock on the door after 10pm. We caught a cold after standing outside for over one hour.
Pleasant colonial house and staff. Breakfast area is bright, nice views.

United StatesNo internet. No support AT ALL after 10pm. No restaurant. Many of the areas, tavern, restaruant, etc... that are advertised were not available "due to renovations". But there were no renovatoins going on, they were just shut down. I left my luggage there to go to MachuPicchu. My return train was delayed, I advised the hotel I would arrive late. Thet acknowledged rewceeipt of message. I arrived around midnight, they would not open the door. After I rung the doorbell many times they disconnected the doorbell. I called the tourist police, they didn´t answer. Then I called the local sector police station for support, they said they´d send a police car but nobody showed up. After one hour out in the cold I sent an urgent message to Booking. the hotel owner, a Frenchman, answered the door within 2 minutes, in his pajamas, angry and harrassed me for being late, telling me I'm inconsiderate and should know there´s nobody there after 10pm. I explained the train was delayed and that i had advised them immediately. He mumbled and harrumphed something and then said ok, it´s not my fault. We spent over one hour out in the cold, my wife, my friend and I developed a sore throat and sniffles the next day. I have never been treated so poorly by a hotel owner/manager in my life and I´ve visited 58 countries and been to some modest hotels in challengingn countries in L.America, Asia and Africa.
Nice, simple breakfast in open terrace. Nice, comfortable open lobby. Nice, large, rustic, clean room with a view of the mountain.
