Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaExcellent hotel & loved the sauna. The dinner was absolutely worthwhile & breakfast was delicious. Loved that the location was out of Tromso but not too far.

United StatesHonestly, I have nothing to say, the place is an absolute gem
The view from the room, the common areas, and the Sauna by the beach are top-class. The staff was so kind and friendly, all of them! I left with such a joy of having stayed there and having the opportunity to meet extraordinary and genuine people who work there

United KingdomGreat location for seeing the northern lights but would benefit from the cabin exterior lights being dimmed to make it easier to see the aurora. Little details such as no bath mat in cabin, or complimentary tea/coffee in cabin. But otherwise great.
Fantastic location with stunning views, cosy comfortable cabin, super friendly and helpful staff, delicious meals, great guest lounge for relaxing in deep comfortable sofas with amazing views!

MalaysiaThe car park is located below the farmhouse and you need to walk uphill a short distance, maybe 30m to the farmhotel. When we arrived, we saw a sign that vehicles were not allowed up the slope so we parked at the car park and brought our luggage up. Later, we were told we could actually drive up and unload our stuff. This info could have been given to us during booking.
The farmhotel is perched on top of a hill and there is a beautiful view of the fjord. The same view can be seen when having breakfast. There are some goats and chickens at the farm which makes the stay lovely. The staff are nice. Breakfast is adequate and acceptable though more choices would be welcome. We enjoyed the coffee which was served to us. I enjoyed the stay and wished I have an extra night there. I would definitely stay here again should I return to Kvaloya.

United StatesIt’s a beautiful, serene property with relaxing facilities. We enjoyed our stay so much! The staff is so friendly, the food is delicious, the views are incredible, and the atmosphere is relaxing. We loved the sauna and jacuzzi. We were able to see the northern lights from the jacuzzi one night and it was an incredible experience.

United KingdomThere were a couple of small mix ups around meal choices and jacuzzi bookings but these were quickly resolved by the helpful staff.
The scenery, the friendly staff, the jacuzzi and sauna, the food, the spectacular view from the dining room, the farm animals and the opportunity to see the northern lights!

AustraliaI wished the dinners came with vegetables. One night I had spicy tomato-based cod fish with bread on the side and the other night the vegetarian option was pasta with oil and walnuts. Given how I was feeling, one was too spicy and other was too oily. Not the restaurant’s fault but some vegetables would have helped.
We had a cosy cabin with two bedrooms, each containing a small double bed. I was sick so spent most of the visit in my room. I loved the comfortable bed with the big cushion for sitting up and being able to look out onto birch trees on one side and the farmyard on the other. I also appreciated being able to have my breakfast and dinner carried to me on a tray (by the friend I was travelling with).

United KingdomFriendly, cosy place to spend the night - the common area above the restaurant is particularly lovely to relax and watch the fjord and the weather. Room was comfortable, shower was powerful - the Rituals toiletries were a nice touch. Breakfast was one of the best we've had this trip - though would have preferred a flask of coffee to have been available, rather than having to ask for it cup by cup. Enjoyed having animals around. I miss mine when I travel so it's lovely to make a fuss of someone else's.

FinlandThe farm hotel was reasonably close to, for example, the island of Sommarøy, and it takes about half an hour to get there by car. The rooms were simple and clean. The shower and bathing facilities were modern and very clean. The farm had goats, sheep, a dog, a cat, chickens, and a bunny. Guests could freely interact with and observe the animals. According to the staff, some of the animals were up in the mountains at this time of year. We left early in the morning, so we didn't have time to eat breakfast, but the staff offered to prepare sandwiches for us to take with us. Recommended!

CyprusOur only tiny con was that the curtains in our rooms did not reach all the way down at one place and due to the never ending day and us not being used to it we had trouble sleeping but that is the only thing I can come up with, we really enjoyed our stay :-)

Hands down one of our favourite places in Norway. You pay for what you get - and this place delivers on everything that’s promised. We could hike, see the animals and relax on the property inside and out. We wish we could have stayed longer. Breakfast was perfect, albeit there were small portions - but this eliminates waste. The rest was amazing!

Switzerland-
The night in the small wagon was very nice and the "fireplace" has a certain charm. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The small farm with several animals and the possibility to go to the jacuzzi and or sauna is great. You can book rental equipment for a snowshoe hike directly on site. Parking is free of charge. Note that there is no supermarket or restaurant nearby. So you are tied to the accommodation's catering on site. This is very good, but the costs add up!
