Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesNot so much the property’s fault, but only caught a weak aurora on my last night. The only reason I saw it, though, was because the owner knocked on my door to ensure that I was up to see it. 😎
Restaurant was excellent and people were great.

United StatesBecause the beds take up most of the space. there is no place to relax other than on the beds. The sauna is an extra charge. The dogs a fun to visit but are very noisy! Be aware that you may have 70+ dogs barking for food, exercise, and disturbances.
This is a very cozy spot in the woods that is suitable to being out in nature. The cabins have large windows and provide a nice retreat.

SwitzerlandNothing ! although since it was the midnight sun period the dogs were quite noisy during the night but with the windows closed it was not a big problem.
Really cosy spot in the middle of the forest, only 10 km from the nearest city which means that with a car, you can also go out for dinner. Although we didn't because the country style dinner cooked by the chief was exceptional. The breakfast was local and delicious and the employees really nice.

United StatesWe had to leave so that other guests could enjoy the place.
The locale was ideal for exploring both river and mountain trails. Activities were plentiful and included dog sledding and superior sauna relaxation. Meals were exceptional in taste, presentation, and wine pairing. The staff was engaged in providing guests with the exact experiences they desired!

AustraliaCheck-in was a bit confused as there wasn't a clear reception building in the mini village. There was also recent snow on the top of our bungalow (which wasn't cleared away) which meant we didn't have clear visibility to the night sky and potential Northern Lights.
This boutique hotel was a fantastic combination of my two loves: dogs and food. The hotel is home to dog-sledding huskies (Trine) and a phenomenal restaurant (Trasti). We stayed in one of the bungalows and it was very comfortable, cosy and kept us warm during the deep winter of January. Breakfast had a beautiful home-cooked feel and the dinners we had felt like fine dining. They also have the most extensive wine collection I've every seen in a restaurant.

The food was exceptional, the staff were fantastic, this place oozes charm and makes you quickly question moving to the Finnmark forest with some sled dogs and foraging for local foods under the northern lights. Two nights here was not enough!

United StatesBeautiful boutique hotel, incredible food, amazing staff, and wonderful vibe around the hotel generally. We didn't want to leave! Everything is awesome about this hotel - if you're considering it, book it!! You won't regret it!! Also make sure to eat here frequently and book the tasting menu if you have time - the owner is a truly terrific chef. He worked as a chef for the prime minister for many years and his food is out of this world excellent and he has fantastic wine selections to match as well!!

SwitzerlandThis vacation was a once in a lifetime experience. The location was perfect to see the northern lights, the restaurant served food of the quality of a Michelin star restaurant, and the staff was extremely friendly. Even though the location was quite remote, there were plenty of activities to do. PS: it is also a great place to propose to your girlfriend - a guaranteed YES (from personal experience) :)

Czech RepublicExcellent boutique hotel with spacious cabins in a pine forest. The self-service breakfast is just splendid. The setting is quiet, while still just about 15 minutes away from Alta. Our cabins had large observation decks that are oriented to the most common direction of northern lights. (Not all cabins are equipped with this, tough).
